I love seeing something on here from a LIVE performance. He never came to the states back when I was falling in love with him. Ahhh...the wonder years. Thanks for sharing it!!
I spoke to him on the phone one christmas when he was dating my friend nick curtis's step sister jamie lee. he is a cool guy. kings of the wild frontier was the first CD I owned
Totally connected with antmusic when I was 12 and just gained momentum...try being Mr. Jock and wearing Adam and the Ants swag from middle school thru highschool...not very smooth sailing but will do it all over again..viva la Antz!!
@ThatGuyThatLikesMuse I've just turned 14 and my family introduced me to his music. If you live in England he's got a tour across the next few months - ticketmaster's good for them, got mine £35 each :) You'll have to go with an over 18 on some dates though. Hope you're able to see him!
STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND AND DELIVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFEEEEEEE TRY AND USEEEEEEE A MIRROR NO BULLET OR A KNIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
@ItsTheWooo Yeah, I know, but the Prince Charming image wasn't what a lot of Ant Fans really wanted. Album was patchy with but with brilliant stuff to fill a mini album. Take S.E.X. and Five Guns West for example, most probably recorded wearing shirts and denims...
@ItsTheWooo --Yes, i have been obsessed with him for 30 years(eeek!).I've never grown tired of him either. And not all Adam Ant fans had a problem with the Prince Charming phase of his career. I paid to see him in concert and bought his music all thru his career. He is one of a kind. And drop dead sexy, but that's another subject.
adam always delivers his own style of music that noone else has been able to replicate because he is a genuis.much love adam that is why you are an icon!
They transcended punk (Dirk Wears White Socks) and thankfully passed through disco briefly and muddled through glam rock. This was the band that navigated 1978-1985 with much commercial success. Oh to have been at this concert. I saw billy idol, pink floyd etc etc. Adam and the ants was on the same level, never had a chance to go live to hear them. My loss. Ant music.
never saw them live either but never mattered.dirk is one of the best albums ever crafted.a true classic.ant music for sex people.still listen to it.day i met god is still outrageous, catholic day is fresh as yesterday.
it's good to see there are still people out there who value this man, I first met him when I was 16 .... and yes I still have the shirt he signed, ah the shit I got in high school in a rural environment liking this music, all worth it since they are all working at junkyards and 7-11's LOL
@SxDxTrace I was 22 - A friend of mine stole the shirt - along with a signed 1st edition of The Shining signed by Steven King....with friends like that.....
I just wanted to let you know that there is still some young love out there for Adam haha. Me being a great example mainly because Im 16 now and own almost every song he has ever released from as well as some of his movies.
The man is a true artist and I'm tickled pink that there are soooo many fANTastic youtube vids and people out there even today still loving that Antmusic
@Chicky1601--- 'm so glad you appreciate Adam. But the Young Love amoung his fans, are the ones of us that have been loving him since we were 16-19 years old. Some 30,25,20 years and going strong.he is my all time favorite artist of all time. And I'm talking 30 plus years now.
One of the greatest,Thee king of the wild frontier.Loved everything AATA did and a lot of his solo stuff. He's gotten a lot of mixed press over personal probs which is just crap,he is a true artist,he may have his demons but man he turned pop upside down back then
Sorry, I dont see Johnny Depp borrowing from Adam ant. Adam was like this unique-ist New Romantic on his own style invention - Depp was just borrowing from the dandy things and a bit of Keef but Sparrow was just a thing Disney developed. Adam was a bit more real even though he was a rock star. So... please...lets stop that Depp talk over and over in each of these Adam Ant vids.
Um, if you watch masters like Freddy Murury live in concert, you will see that he makes maistakes too. That includes Bono and just about every other performer. stop being so critical...
I wasn't criticizing, I was just merely pointing something out. I can't tell you how many concerts I've gone to where the singer forgot the lyrics to their own songs lol. Although, most of the time the audience was singing along, so it wasn't all that noticeable.
i once saw a concert where the singer started mumbling and asked if she could start again! the crowd was laughing but started to cheer when the band started up again^-^
I Love the expression on his face after he yells "stand and deliver!" at the beginning. He looks like he's going to explode with how happy he is. Just look.
I feel like I am 11 again. Too too great. Reminds me of seeinghim live. It was this footage footage form Japan( used to have the VHS that got me to the concert. They used to play Plastic Surgery and Car Trouble ont his station on Long Island ,NY called WLIR...I loved Adam and Devo...then I went to Tower Records ( 4th St and Broadway in manhattan) with my mother and saw the ANTs in Japan video..bought it and the rest is history. ANT MUSIC FOREVER!!
14 and in the same boat as you two. I grew up on this (parents played 80's stuff all the time) so it's no wonder I love it. None of my friends have heard of ANY of the 80's bands I love.
