Thirdly in the new series they've rewritten the story behind the cybermen, not to mention about the redesigns which is a complete copycat of cp-30 and robocop. Personally I think it was very wrong of them to do that.
Secondly in the old series the doctor always travels to other planets. Whilst in the new series the doctor always seems that he's traveling around earth. So far he's only been to two planets but that's about it. So that's another factor that made dr who great because it was adventurous. That's why I prefer the old series over the new ones anyday.
technically speaking the old dr who series is proper dr who stuff seeing that it spans out for over 40 years. With great actors and great writers, and not to mention that they back then gave it a sherlock holmes sort of kick. The new series ( which I do like) sort of lacks that flavour seeing it's all about action scenes and kiddy stuff.
But how does Winterfield(I think that's the name.)know about the Doctor let alone know Jamie's name? Even if the Daleks knew the Doctor was there, how did they know about Jamie?
The silver lining of the missing episodes is tht it gives whovians something to do/gripe about! Star Trek for example, what is there left to do or say? Who fans however can make a useful contribution to the cannon.
All who gripe about the style of recons should just make their own...

It's technically well made, and must have taken a lot of time and effort. But I found it very distracting and annoying, the way it kept switching back and forth between still pictures with Monty Python animation, and video clips. Stick to just one style and it might work better, but I don't think I'll bother with the rest of the story.
Then you should be very, very happy, because spending my time doing ANYTHING is better than that.
(I have a friend who's into all that reconstructed old missing episodes stuff. He's all right unless you get him talking about old-style Dr Who or railway station architecture, then he becomes a bit obsessed! I only watched this to keep him happy, and really, really wish I hadn't. Sorry, but it's just not my sort of thing.)
Right. As long as you've tried it, i'm sorry. I thought you were just another 5 year old dissing the old doctor who, because they haven't seen it. Now I know you've tried it, im ok. Still, i dont like how you call the new stuff 'proper' who. It's all proper. ;)
Because this is the best we're going to get unless the episdoe turns up. The people who put them together deserve great credit for trying to re-create episodes which, in my opinion, are very enjoyable.
Why do people complain about it? I'm kinda sick of hearing complaints about recons. The only alternative till they go and animate them (or miraculously recover more eps, which we all know is quite unlikely) is the audio soundtrack. If you really love DW for the story, you won't find a better one than Evil. And the photos/limited motion that is included do a good job of telling the story.

Breaks0, there IS another alternative. Just don't bother watching or listening to the story at all. That's what I'm going to do. After all, it's only the old Dr Who anyway, not the proper new stuff.

It came first, so that's why it's more like a first draft or a practice run before they finally got it right.
Look at the plot here: The Daleks give give up conquering the universe and decide to run a shop selling stolen antiquse, and exterminate anyone who tries to interfere with their profits. But they run into trouble when the police box they steal to sell to a collector just happens to be the Doctor's Tardis. Or something like that.
Does that sound like a proper Doctor Who story to you?
The Daleks steal the TARDIS on PURPOSE so they can capture the Doctor and make him do experiments on the Daleks and using the TARDIS they will conquer the universe, Waterfield and another Scientist managed to create their own time machine which went to Skaro that started this plot.
Next time watch the entire story before you come up with stupid things.
No, but your opinion is just so wrong. Normally I wouldn't swear at a person for disagreeing, but arguing with you because of what you said before, is like arguing with a monkey.
So what is it about my opinion that you think is just so wrong?
The old-school Dr Who stuff is just dull and embarrassing compared to the new series. As well as looking cheap, there's no real emotional content to the stories and characters at all.
I've tried hard to get into it. I've got a friend who's into that stuff and he's recommended episodes to me, but they've all just left me cold. (Except the ones by Douglas Adams, but that's because Adams was a genius - nothing to do with Dr Who!)
There appear to be a lack of visuals for the last minute or so (from about 4:01 onwards), though their is some audio (the theme and recap of the episode cliffhanger). Was this deliberate?

Oh man, when the Dalek appears it scared me so much I finally figured out why kids used to run behind the sofa.
Thanks for the brilliant recon.
