There may be many, many more Americans who have Hispanic ancestry, but they won't be *Hispanics*. The Irish, Italians, Germans and Slavs all managed to assimilate. They've many millions of ancestors, today. There's no reason to believe Latinos won't assimilate into American culture like they did. That is, outside the Southwest.

Technically, if one has Hispanic ancestry, it can count on the census. Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen, Emilion Estevez, Christina Aguilera, Cameron Diaz and others like them, count as Latinos.
So far, about 1/3 of Latino Americans have discarded their language and culture.

That doesn't matter. It would be good for the United States. Spanish could be spoken more than English in the United States. Plus, there will have to be some changes to the country. The United States will be even more of a nation of immigrants. And it may never stop.

@platinumbeatZ4U People run from wars, as long as that happens no where is going to be safe. If a country is based on mass immigration to survive then that's a problem (I'm fine with tourism).
America will probably have a 1 child policy in the future. People want too many children. Go and adopt one there are children that needs help, not by having another. No one every thought about the amount of resources needs for pregnant ladies.

Victor Ochoa a MEXICAN invented the windmill and magnetic brakes. Juan Lozano a MEXICAN invented the Rocket Belt. Did you know that a MEXICAN came up with the name GOOGLE? Please inform yourself before you go out saying that LATINOS have never invented anything, and these are just a few.
