I wonder why these guys don't tuck their pant legs into their boots? e do when we wear our combats at Cadets, and I've seen plenty of servicemen in combats here in Canada who tuck them in. Personal preference, I guess.
@somedude221 tucking your pants in your boots, or "blousing" as the proper term is, is a requirement for garrisoned forces and anyone who is on base. Its proper dress and deportment. In the field we "un-blouse" because it is more comfortable and allows better air circulation. That, and in Canada where its Green, it offers more camo then a flat black boot. Its a tactically better choice, which I wouldn't expect a Cadet to know, cause you need to DO tactical things to get it.
This may sound stupid cause i dont know anything about war and guns but since They are usually fighting in such long distances why dont they have more snipers.
@iamirshadhussain snipers are for really long ranges and more for special missions. their fighting at about 600m and thats still to close for a sniper. besides there isnt snipers that go into towns and villages and do patrols

I got my numbers from from the official military strength site. I have no understanding of the military? Im in the military you asshole. I have spent much of my life learning military history, and military tactics. People like you piss me off, people who do now respect military service.

The manpower Iran's military has is 35,860,582troops. Theyre average available manpower is 1,670,100 troops who are ready to fight at a moments notice. We cant even get a million on our side. How does that not sound like the greatest threat we have ever faced? I have two great uncles, that fought in world war two, those men who fought are the greatest generation. But they out-numbered there enemy many time over. Today its the other way around.

The Pakistan Army has tried many times to drive the taliban out, but every time, they take to many casualties and have to withdraw. We need to go in, but of course the pakistan government wont let us. We should not need permission. Its what we need to do, to finaly win this war.

Thats absolute bullshit. Our numbers have to increase if we want to be militarily relevant. As is, we do not even have enough troops to keep our own country secure. 62,000 troops is not enough. We do not have to lower our standards to increase our forces. Are you saying that countries that have larger militaries have really crapy training? U.S. troops are just as good as us, and they have hundreds of thousands more. I hope for this countries security that the government increases the numbers.

Numbers are everything. Look at my post from 3 weeks ago. I know it sounds farfetched, but if canada was invaded, we would not have enough troops to defend the country. We would have to rely on our allies to come to our rescue. They are fighting so no one else has to? what does that have to do with inreasing the number of troops? My generation has been exposed to the mistakes of our fathers so don't tell me I know nothing of the world, and second I may be naive in thinking peace will one day exist but I know for sure creating a massive military power in canada will not benifit anyone. You are not nieve in thinking that peace will one day exist again, it will, its what we are fighting for. How will expanding our military not benifit anyone? Eden1087, Canada wants to increase are number of troops but they are limited because are population is so small. The reason why the american forces is so big, is because the american population is 10 times bigger than ours. By the way who would want to attack Canada, the world loves us.

Just because we have a smaller population, dosent mean we cant increase the number of our forces, I mean in the first world war, when canada was in its infancy, and had a much smaller population then it does today, sent 620,000 troops to fight. Today we have 62,000. You ask who would want to attack canada? anyone who wants to attack the U.S. has an open door with a welcome matt into the U.S. Do you really think that our enemy today only hates the U.S.? They hate us just as much.

Eden1087, first of all...WW1 was much different circumstances.
we were fighting a real group of powerful countries with large armies and also we had a draft so if you could fight, you had to fight. Today, all our military is volunteer therefore we have a small force but, I'm sure if we had another draft, we could come up with a larger force.

This terrorist threat, is the greatest threat that we have ever faced. It doesnt matter that we are much more advanced, if we have 62,000, and they have many many millions, technology is not going to bridge that gap. Our enemy doesnt see canada as any different than the U.S. You say that canada doesnt have have any enemy countries. How about Iran, and Pakistan, and many other countries that support terror, i mean Iran alone has enough troops to drive us out of afghanistan and iraq.

yes it took little time to drive the taliban out of afghanistan, but they came right back didnt they, and whats the reason for that? we only had 50,000 troops in country. I mean we expect to win with 50,000 troops, in a counrty were russia failed to win with 300,000. And your saying that we have enough? if so, than you agree with the dumass corrupt government in the U.S. who thought they could defeat an insurgency with a minimal number of troops.

Eden1087, Don't make me laugh... Pakistan is an allie and go an counter terror missions all the time. Well... for Iran they can't win if most of the world is against them. For example, Hussein's army was one of the biggest in the world and was thought to be unbeatable, yet he got his ass kicked. Also remember that several other countries are involved in afghanistan and they have very powerful armies that together could easily beat Iran. In the end we and our allies will be victorious.

Do more research buddy. Pakistan is both our greatest allie, and our greatest enemy. The president is on our side, but most of the pakistan government supports the taliban. Only the government not the people. Rememeber that the Taliban are from pakistan. I dont know how many time i have to keep repeating myself, Im a Combat Soldier in 1st battalion PPCLI, i know what im talking about. We will not be victorious until we go in to pakistan, and destroy the taliban were they train.

Eden1087, Do not assume you are right just cause your can say you are in the army. My Grandpa was in PPCLI in WW2, My dad was in the army in the 70's, and my Brother is in the army right now in Afghanistan. So please think before you talk, oh ya you should do more research because the Pakistani Special Forces conduct counter terror missions on Taliban controlled areas in north Pakistan. Only the extremists hate us and not the hole Pakistani Public. I know what I'm talking about too.

Yes pakistan special forces conduct operations against the taliban (im not trying to disrespect theyre military) but they failed. Im not saying that im right, but if you disagree with me, then you disagree with the Afghan government, and all the military brass in ISAF. Im sorry if i was getting angry. Eden1087, hahahahah.... so you are saying that the Taliban has millions of soldiers and they have only been able to kill less than 100 of us. In realty Germany was the greatest threat we have ever faced(WW1&2) pulling millions of casualties from our army. We only occupy the Kandahar province of Afghanistan which is a portion of the country. We are very well capable of doing our job, and doing it well.NATO has brought stability to this country, and Iran won't attack because they will loose.

No my friend they train with our REGULAR forces, trust me, I've trained these men. Jtf2 by the by are trained in the older styles of pankration, muay thai clinches, and japanese jiu jitsu, not brazillian, and all are eventually made black belts :p

lebanesewar, I suggest you do research before you make idiotic comments. Every single war Canada has been in, we succeeded with high marks. We have never failed at any war we have been in. Which is something considering Canadians soldiers has always been ill-equiped with less advanced weapons. Expecially in the world wars. CF fired less bullets then the US did, and we killed more Insurgents then they did in Afghanistan. Canada = War Greatness but belongs to peacekeeping.

The brittish S.A.S, us marines, navy seals, Russian Spetsnaz, and Australian special forces, ALL come to train with our regular soldiers. We have the best trained soldiers on earth, with the highest requirement for height, weight, fitness and strength. We have the best trained soldiers, period. We just need the #'s.
