  • they made what we are...and what we do today...respect

  • who is the blonde woman?

  • Fuckin love them.

  • Her voice is awsome , need more of this ... mum or auntie "jollyjarvis" she is fucking great, ya piss taking cunt.

  • 1234

  • Crass would do the human race a favour if they came back with a bang and more mainstream. we need them bad. There is just junk poppy rocky shite left for our kids to look at now... what a fucking dissaster.

  • great stuff!!

  • Nice of Steve to bring his Mum along!

  • fab film mate :)

  • Oh, fuck yeah. 'Twas the start of my Awakening... ummm, 31 years ago. It's a work in progress, but nice to get this reminder; and have to say, it's as relevant as ever, even though as a collective back then, we anarcho-pacifist type kinda missed the opportunities open to us. If we could have seen what 2011 looks like now, we might have taken things a lot more seriously. Cheers, anyway!

  • feeding of the 5000 posers

  • What a brilliant tune

  • Yay all you idiot leftist morons. Listen to the words. This is not a criticism of the military industrial complex, or any other governmental or capitalist issue. This song is a criticism of leftist militarism. It's a criticism of Marxism.

  • @freewriter101 No, It's a criticism of violent revolution. Why would anarchists be concerned with frivolous things such as "left wing" and "right wing"?

  • Noc miłości - The Feeding of the 5000, niezapomniany koncert, cieszę się, że mogłem to widzieć na żywo, chyba najlepszy koncert w moim życiu...

  • @lukaszgolebiewski Zgadzam sie w zupelnosci. A dzis powtorka.

  • @wojtekmysza w Londynie?

  • yes after watching the mini-movie Penny rimbaud looks like more like a Grateful Dead Burnout then a Punk Pioneer!

  • @ccloud7 so what

  • johnny rotten said (in his typical self-flattering style) about the Sex Pistols, "we make people think"

not compared to Crass you dont buddy

  • hell yeah, steve in march. already got my tix.

  • @crasschris1 See you in the pit.

  • it maybe a bit more of a "rock concert" but the message is still there. nice to see crass still getting their message out.

  • Comment removed

  • The swirling disco lights really make it.

and yes, I'm going to see Steve in March. It will probably be fun.

  • where the fuck can i get one of those collared shirts steve is wearing?

  • @zodiacchiller gross! pffft. try a silk screen.

  • nice to see you dont have to grow up and end up living in a mortgaged prison cell in england.

    wow!

    good for them.

  • Brilliant.

  • Like the N a Palmer guitar style, i've got to get along to these, bang into them first time around but never got to see them.

  • Penny Rimbaud is a silly hippy twat that shits in his stupid organic garden.Steve was a proper working class fighter not a pretentious hippy cunt.

  • @sambexuk Wouldn't go that far , i think he's just got oldtimers dis ease, agree bout Steve though even if he did do the Punch and Judy show at Heathrow airport for american kids.

  • Excellent vid! The guitarists may look a bit like beefy brawlers, but this is still real punk...and the lass has a great set of lungs to belt out one of Crass' most tuneful creations.

  • qho is that lovely gal?

    eve libertine or whom?

  • Thank you Crass ....you were the soundtrack to my childhood. Much love and respect for influencing me through your music and words. Personal freedom and the ability to keep an open mind through lifes challenges and to remain free in spirit and the physical...... a treasure that is true happiness for me.... No one is perfect ,nothing ever is......we can only do our best and together live the best life we possibly can. Thankyou.

  • my five favourite punk songs of all time in descending order - 1. bloody revolutions (crass), 2. stars and stripes of corruption (dead kennedys), 3. Spirit of Keith Moon (Peter and the Testube Babies), 4. At The Edge (Still Little Fingers), Surplus Toys (Striknien DC)

  • BNP SPECIAL!

  • Hilarious!

  • you people make it out to be so much more then it is. this is how to shout your frustrations, express your points and views without looking like a mad man. some day you KIDS will understand about real life and realize that even Steve Ignorant has to live, and isnt it better that he make a living providing the music we love rather then getting a job in a ford factory? I will always be here to stand behind CRASS.

  • AMAZING TUNE! Pointless now when done by souless cunts like this. Fucking sellout! Money for Steve's mortgage i guess. Wanker.

  • @amnodeidyet Too right, well said mate. So many are too blind to see it. It's the hypocrisy that gets me.

  • absolute classic!!

  • Bollocks. Don't sully the message with your capitalist horseshit, We're intelligent people, we understand the pressures of modern life that all of us feel, even Steve Ignorant. I don't begrudge him a penny. Its Southern your anger should be directed at, they have raped the back catalogue and squeezed it for all they can get.

  • Best Punk Band EVER!!!! ANARCHY AND PEACE!!!

  • OMG faaaaack.. Wish I was there!

  • Was at Durham, great show. Fuck I was into CRASS back in the day, did gigs, demos, flyers, hunt sabs all sorts..but it was fun. Steve's right whatever happened to fun?

  • They have a point ya know, to me it's just as sound as most things out there, however it is odd to see old people sp

outing their youthful anger filled idealist rants. Anarchist Ballad. lol

  • it didn't change a thing, and it became something to sell. CAPITALIST FUCK!! i'm kidding...or am i???

  • Can somebody explain to me why anarchist music is so popular in the punk scene? I personally see it as being just as irrelevant as any band singing about beer and fights. What did these political rants change? Society is the same. What was the point??? I'm not criticizing the bands. I'd just like some opinions on why they mean so much to people.

  • I dont think anyone could explain, maybe the "There Is No Authority But Yourself " documentary may give some insight, may even give some idea behind what the point was. Like many things in life....mmmm, I dont think Richard Dawkins writes books for the creationist or the folk in the Vatican but I have no doubt he thought about them. Maybe some Crass publications with further reading sources lead some ppl to new ideas, who knows.

  • because people know they cant really do anything about it so they listen to this stuff to feel better for not being able to make a stand. Or they grow a sense of humor. sometimes people come close to actually doing something but instead they a make a rock band or get killed by CIA in south america. I just like the music.

  • I find anarchist punk cathartic. Punk songs don't change the world, but fuck, neither do presidents, they just fuck it more. It feels good to hear other people play fast, angry songs about how fucked the system is, change or no change, and to see that they stand behind their morals. It's refreshing because you don't see enough of it, and it's good to be part of a community, small and fleeting though it may be, that's just as sick of the way things are as you are.

  • How do you know society is the same ?

Don't underestimate the Crass influence in the 1990s free party scene, hunt sabbing, the ALF, the road protests, poll-tax riot, AFA, Conflict etc. etc. Just because some windows remain unsmashed doesn't mean nothing came out of it. The participants are still here, shaping the lives of those around them every day.

"There Is No Authority But Yourself" blimey, what power those six words gave to my life, it makes me choke up and for that I have Crass to thank

  • @whitetrashoutlaw i love the question. well i was some random fuck in 7th grade: crass taught me to question everything and to live freely, and i hope i can teach other people the same thing, but i want people to disprove me rather than agree with me, for then i will be a smarter person. this is what crass has taught me: ideas spread like a contagious plague, and we paint meaning on a meaningless world.

  • best set that weekend was flux of pink indians it was like the gigs they did back in the 80,s shame about conflict and the dodgey pa at the start of their set

  • i now him he lives near me we voulter for same lifeboat and i am going on tour with him in april ow ya !!

  • How i wish soooo much that i was there.

Love the music that Crass put out

  • fuckin' love it! This isn't only music;it's a way of life. The 'do it yourself' way of life is all influenced from these bands.Profound.

  • leavem alone they were doin shit wen u werent...at least they did sumthin. if any of u guys from crass r doin anythin more..at least tell folks. m

  • best punk song ever written- just about beats some gems from jello biafra

  • dear loobs666 i got a solution... dont look up crass in the search bar... if u want ill teach u how to use it so u dont get mixed up again

  • Well.. when you've finished learning how to remover your head from your own sphincter (which i'm guessing is not gonna be any time soon)....feel free!

  • r u 12 years old?

  • Dear ramonescunt...Well didn't you grow up to the savy mature person you are now. ramonescunt kinda says it all really don'tcha think? Personally I'm with Mr Ignorant reflections on what Crass was about than whatever year zero you'd be party to...goodnight and have a nice day

  • so awesome. thank you for uploading

  • saw crass about 30 years ago in germany w/ poison girls - yepp we're 'old' now but we're proud of it - punk rules...4ever

  • fantastic, wish i could see more memory comments than silly arguments under these amazing videos. enjoy the video people!

  • This ain't Crass, its just stevie's pension fund!!!!

look even Gizz Butt even has to stick his bloody big head in and get involved!

This is just poor and I bought feeding in 78. Time moves on.... so did I

  • You make me Laugh... superior Anarcho Snobs. It's like, 'Im more Anarchic than you!!! My Dad's a bigger threat to Society than yours is!' Fucking feeble! Crass were Shite... good backdrops mind.... now Killing Joke, they were a different kettle of fish (it's called talent).

  • I used to love this band when I was a kid, but I totally never got the point (I mean...Anarchy and Peace....WTF)... So, fuck it... VOTE BNP!

  • Comment removed

  • Loobs666, while you are at it, keep watching TV and try not to think to much, so far so good throughout your entire life, it seems.

  • Cheers for the reminder... there's a triple bill of Star Trek starting in half-an-hour. (chortle)

  • FUCK BNP!

  • Obviously...hahaha...Cock!

  • Maybe if they learned to carry a tune they could have been more popular and maybe did a few videos with some hot chicks in they could have made it in America. If they read this comment they'll probably be kicking themselves.

  • dude they dident want to be "more popular" they gave shit to the pistols and the clash for that shit.

goddamn do you even listen to the lyrics...fuck

  • "dude" It was a joke.

  • The crowd were all there going "YEAH YEAH SMASH THE FUCKING SYSTEM MAN!" then went home and played on the Wii. Ignorant, give up man, you're casting pearls before swine and you're starting to lise any integrity.

  • Lise any integrity? you already fucking list it. Go and do butter ads with Johnny Rotten you fucking whore sellout cunt.

  • It was for all the folk who never saw them back in the day, you got to live your own life mate not how a band tells you to cos that would be Facist now wouldn't it!

It wasn't down to the band to change society, it was down to the folk that went to see them, you obviously never saw them & you obviously did not get it now did you?

  • Oh, I saw Crass play more than a few times. I remember when The Poison girls were supporting them in Bradford, someone knicked their guitars and what did they do???? Phone for the police.... it was at that moment I learned the word... 'Hypocrite'!

  • haha... you just don't get it do you! Never mind.... I'm just off for a crumpet with some good old English Butter!

  • Enjoy!

  • are you sure it was crass rang the police could have been anyone, and why was someone kicking their guitars anyway, strange kind of behaviour to go to a gig and start kicking the guitars of one of the bands, i've been pissed out of me head and caused chaos at loads of punk gigs but never attacked a band or their gear (well apart from a few amps)

  • Not Kicked... but Knicked/ Nicked/ Thieved/ Robbed/ taken without consent and all property is theft etc.

  • ah that makes more sense, someone must have knicked my reading glasses

  • u ever bin in jail? it aint all fun in tha showers u cunt.

  • wow all these years and they still can't play lol fuck pc punk anarchy is gay.

  • dude it only steve the rest isnt here so his back up band sucks

but i think this shit is pretty fucking awesome

  • I just watched a documentry about them on this site, and it hits me how important they were/are in our culture.

    Big TY UPLOADER n1

  • I love this shit i paid no more than 60p for there records as they suggested, ahh the good old days ...Maggie, 3million unemployed, cold war, police state, at least we had something to moan about.

Now its the smoking ban and mortgages.

  • thats bullshit.... the military industrial complex, prison industrial complex, drug war, laws violating basic human rights, representative government that doesnt represent the people... its the same shit its always been just new assholes.... the messages of crass r as relevant as always...

  • You're right on there bud. Their message is as relevant now as it ever was.

  • the fact people think they r free means their message might even be more relevant now than ever haha

  • fukin rite

  • Is that a Crass workshirt. lulz.

  • Penny Rimbaud thought this was a display of insult to crass.

  • @facialfetus who gives a fuck about Penny. punks bout doing what you want and they did that by choosing to perform music. so fuck what Penny says. Do what you fucking want despite others!!

  • @facialfetus and I agree almost whole heartedy.

  • @facialfetus and I agree almost whole heartedy.

  • @facialfetus well its cause the a and r wasnt perfect hes kind of perfectionist the artists music business needed MONEY overall artists and musicians were being blown off by the public and corporations. thats all it was about. noone was giving a cent to artists and musicians.

  • @facialfetus why

  • lol that was fun dont know what the fuck went on but it was fun lol

  • Oh well that passed a few minutes......

  • pikey bird im a pikey bird bit of a minger ??i sit all day playin with me minger??i look like a scare crow one that dosent know thou ?????cos im a pikey minger pikey minger errrr imagine if i were ginga ginga pikey minger lol

    Delete

  • now this cunt is marking my spelling plz tell me whoes a cunt a utube teacher lol wat a cock cant be botherd

  • Lol, that is a classic, it's just a rambling string of shit, did your care worker help you with that one? It's a great thing seeing someone who likes to dish out crap to others getting so wound up when a someone gives him some back.

Never mind I won't hear from him again as the bellend cant be botherd.

  • Now the bellend is sending me messages lol.

"your a cunt and if i ever meet you i would hert you yea delete ure shit n run n hide how crass is that"

I think he's trying to groom me!

  • thats not nice making stuff up

  • Oh ha ha that old cheshtnut, and apparently erazerhedd is a girl called Mary, who'd have thought it, you come across as a very classy bird Mary.

  • Here's her/it exact words, typed by her own fair hand "your 2 easy im bored cary on alone sad man im a girl lol called mary lol"

  • thou watch out not 2 speak about crass cos ull get some wana be sying u never knew the real crass lol the real crass ha ha wow i must bae a bellend wow lol

  • Respect

  • The older I get the more I learned that much of what Crass preached is true. Except for one thing, worse than government (which could work for our behalf) are corporations and families such as Bush's and British royalty, which only want to enslave us. But growing your own organic food, and living your life on your own terms is brilliant. And ride a bike and never by their omnicidal oil. Also never fight in their fucking wars.

  • ther's no such thing as a government or state anymore. It's obviously a group of 5 or 6 gigantic corporations plotting to take over the world. Comming soon, a little bit late maybe, but it's like today is 1983, tomorrow will be too late.

  • best gig i ever been to so mutch love thanks steve fuk all the h8ers

  • Steve Ignorant is a great Performer

  • Yeah that's showbiz....says it all really.

  • Don't know just how much money they made at their height anyway. I heard the sold their albums for cost price, making them like no profit whatsoever. And on the albums they wrote "pay no more than" so that shops couldnt rip people off

  • they took a pitance for food and lived in a squat used all the money 2 put on over bands like flux poison girls ect but this aint crass

  • yeah i know this isnt crass, its just steve ignorant. still this is a very good version of a brillant crass song.

  • they live near epping forest in a massive fuck off mansion and made loads of money bought into them in the 70/80 now know the truth

  • id hardly call dial house a mansion its a old farm house ?alot of crass members are in there 60 s so they should have a few quid !crass are not living like rock stars like ure trying 2 make me think??they used all the money 2 put other bands stuff out like flux poison girls ect ?ure coments seem mean spiritd as if youve been cheated bet you like money now !NOW YOU KNOW THE TRUTH LOL

  • they promoted other bands and lived ok but not like rock stars??? more like middle class hippys tung in cheek lol

  • when money makes you turn

  • Relevant then.Relevant now.

We're all still fighting.Nothing has changed.

    Same shit different decade.

What are you gonna be doing come the time ?

  • hey markusa, i thought it was a great gig, went on saturday, which was better sound apparantly. crass won't reform, but i thank them for being them, a great band with good intentions.

  • anyways....what the profits of this show is for?as long it remains for actions,(at large)i don't fucking care about what happening with who,what,were,howcome.......etc. but if not... ACT NOW,HARVEST LATER

  • If this gig was such a bad idea . No one would have turned up! Good luck to you Steve

  • who cares,I dont think steve sold out,1)good for a new generation of punks too see them,i seen them in 1981,at there height,+ he was playing away for schwarzneggar & stratford Mercs over the yrs 2) wouldnt say they where as bad as them sellout fcks the sex pistols!regarding merchandise good for the band to make a few quid for playing for us not like the f*ckrs the sex pistols who played for the cash and not the fans!!!! just my view janer up the belfast punks ! oi! Oi!

  • yeah .... i now think it was shit looking back.

  • It was more the merchandise that did it for me.

That was far worse than anything on stage..in my view.

  • nearly a year ago allready.

im in two minds about the gig now....

it was good at the time (nearly a year ago now ) but, the band here were wankers.

jumping around like rock star pricks.

thank fuck crass wont ever reform.

  • Well I did try to point out the potential danger of this at the time!

Though I would be upset if people think Steve 'sold out'. I don't think so at all.

I just thought this gig was ill advised to say the least..why? because after all the trouble Crass went to. I felt it was historically imperative that there was at least something for people out there in the future to plug into.

There will never be another Crass. It needed to stay clean. This gig stained the windows. In my eyes.

  • Agreed. The woman is awful and the left guitarist apparently thinks he's sid vicious.

  • did you go ????dont think you did easy 2 slag n h8 why not do beter people like u make me sick utube haters go n do somthing with ure life other than slag people!! off ure opininion ure intiltiltled 2 but i am mine she was great

  • No. I would not fly across the Atlantic to see one former member of Crass.

I just think she's trying to be too "singy"; words alone don't always convey meaning.

But really? I should do something with my life? I don't run around looking for opinionated comments and writing barely coherent rebuttals that in essence say the same thing every time, "Your entitled to an opinion, but it's wrong because it disagrees with mine". What's the point of that?

  • your a fool she was never a member of crass just know your shit if your ganna say stuff i met loads of americans@that gig and they all said it was a night of amazing love n anger truly the best peace n bollox

  • What? I said one former member. That's Steve Ignorant. Unless that was some other angry bald man who looks exactly like Steve Ignorant?

The show may have been good. From what I can see in this video, it didn't really seem like it was.

  • What a bellend you are, it was so obvious marshmallow1304 meant Steve Ignorant. And lol at you getting all irate over someone having a mild pop at your beloved crass, exactly the sort of idolisation what they were against when they WERE a group. I didn't go and didn't want to, but then I saw the real crass. This isn't crass grow up erazerhedd and see the real picture.

  • least im not a yank

  • this is the kinda childish shit crass had 2 contend with ohhh im so mutch beter i know the real truth you sound like a cock i saw the real crass lol thats a fucking joke im glad you wrote that whoes the bellend now me thinks maddobo ????

  • Comment removed

  • my favorite crass lyrics of all time are eve lybertines section in this masterpiece

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Outstanding.

  • Was Steve the only original Crass member there? I can't deny it's good hearing those songs again.

  • He was.

  • Facking brilliant! :-)

  • smiing with semtex the new white answer to punk .

  • IS THAT EVE LYBERTINE????!!!!!

  • No it's Sadie 9

  • Every opinion I utter is correct. Every other opinion is probably false. I am Christ. I am God. I am Allah. I am Jesus H. Corbett.

  • What is the woman saying?

She says something diffrent then how the song goes.

"You romanticise your heroes, quote from Marx and Mao. Well their ideas of freedom are just oppression now"

  • this was the first crass song I heard by crass way back in '79 it got me thinking in a different way and also introduced me to other bands like them. Glad to see they are still getting the message out

  • The greatest band of all time. Cutting, honest lyrics with meaning and passion.

  • Steve Ignorant must have a tremendous memory for lyrics. He needed to store pages of words in his head.

  • not so much. hell, every band he was in played crass songs... conflict, scwartzeneggar, stratford mercenaries. not that i'm complaining.

  • still a classic even though its not THE crass

  • one of the bouncers is singing for crass wtf???

  • who the fuck are these people? This isn;t Crass ... Who the fuck is this?

  • Crass split up in 84 as they planned to all along. That is Steve Ignorant, the older version.

  • goosepimples....saw CRASS nearly 30 years ago in GER...Steve still rocks...

  • its just a fucking good song!!

  • i guess this song seemed to touch a little to close to stirnerite absurdity for my liking. denying social affects and the need for social organization can lead to a need to "sell-out"; or otherwise run off into the words with no hope of further affecting society, keeping it nice and safe for the powers that be.

  • why limit individuality to sexual art communes, witchcraft, and intoxication. there is so much an individual can contribute past the social bars; which will always exists unless some are willing to deny hedonism and struggle to allow real individuality to grow.

  • why limit individuality at all? and sexual art communes witchcraft and intoxication are all pretty fucken awesome.

  • yeah exactly, why limit individuality at all; sweatshops are awesome for their owners who then get to feast, have trophy wives, and no worries; who are we to tell them what they can do with their individuality!
