But sometimes I always wandered why the commentators never got excited about an overtake and I realised after a short while, that people overtake in NASCAR all the time!

F1 drivers can't touch Nascar drivers (unless your Tony Stewart) but Nascar drivers can cmpleate with F1s. f1 cars pamper you, I mean short of changerin your oil and tirers you can do just about anything in the cockpit of one. With nascar if theres aproblem you deal iwth it until the next pit and your car fights you when you turn. I dn't like all the oval tracks but nascars road races are pretty good, wish they had more of them.

Jeff Gordon was matching Montoya's lap times at the gp circuit at indy in f1 car, said it was easy because the f1 car does exactly what you want it to do when you want to it to do it with an a flick of the wrist. Mind you Montoya isn't cutting it in nascar (20th in points and one win in 4 years). What makes a great driver is being able to handle and turn a car that wants to do neither. nascar cars are much more difficult to drive around corners, thats why they are better drivers.
