Anyone know where this A and B unit are now? I heard they took them to Sacramento Railroad Museum's shop, because of ongoing vandalism. However, I have not been able to find out what happened to them since.
I first came to California from Joliet, IL on the Super Chief in 1964. While living in Sacramento, I often went to admire and pay homage to the loco that embodies my first trip. The museum is one of the best.
347C plus the 'B' unit, same numbers when owned by the Santa Fe and currently in a California museum. Unsure if the prime movers are operational or not yet.
That's recent. Woah I didn't think this train design in particular still existed. 90% of them disapeared from the face of the US and Canada in the 70s and 80s.
@JohnBachofer John, good news is that there are still a good number of EMD F-units still in existence. Some in museums but a number of them still operating on tourist trains in various states including Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, and California.

I got to ride the SuperChief a couple of times prior to 1971. What a rush to see the Santa Fe F7 come barreling down the tracks and stop to let us on. The porters were so friendly. Back then people talked of a simpler time with Steam locomotives. I guess that is a lesson to appreciate what you have before it is gone.
Me hubiera encantado ser el operador maquinista de esta locomotora. / I wish to had been the engineer of this locomotive.

I was out west in the 70s. Probably 1973. Sleeping on the hood of the car cause the
engine was warm...About daybreak I wake up
to blaring horns and look up to see two
SuperChief F7s meet and pass. It was awesome.
I was 14 or 15 years old. Loved trains even back then!

Glad these classics were saved. The F7A doesn't run, but doesn't it still have its 567 series diesel inside the carbody?
