If someone had the time and balls to start a fund to sue this guy for fraud I'd gladly contribute. Poppoff is possibly the easiest target, given he was exposed in the past, but if we got him, then maybe the others could be forced to prove their claims, open their accounts and justify their tax-free status. That would send them running for cover. Trouble is, they are so damned rich, and protected by their sheep, it would be a very difficult task.

All religions (except possibly one of them) are necessarily frauds.. But people swear by the utility of their faith. His whole scam is built on a foundation of faith that he has a divine connection allowing him to cure people and call himself a prophet.

I think that religion, more often than not, distracts and/or discourages people from learning topics that could tremendously benefit themselves and mankind.
If most people directed the time and effort put into religion instead into the sciences and mathematics, it would profoundly change the world for the better in my opinion.

I wonder sometimes, (especially because there are so many Peter Popoffs) if religion might be an ancient technology--a way to get really wicked and filthy minded people to voluntarily wear a badge of dishonor (by convincing them that it marks them as trustworthy.) You do have to be at least morally indolent to find its ideas appealing, and it gives someone a lot of opportunities to exploit others. Maybe religion is clever sort of entrapment.
