i think only about 50% of operators do any shoring ..especially if its only gonna be a machine in the trench...im not saying i agree with that as ive seen a wall come down on someone b4 and they got buried and hurt !!!!! safety safety safety!!! cant stress that enough,dont be lazy it takes no time at all to slope or even a 12 in bench.....but some bosses want it done fast and they cut corners,thats when ppl get hurt!!
