I actually *love* salt, but let people salt their own food. Made this decision long ago after being served a dish with SO MUCH salt it really wasn't edible, even for me! Now the "no salt" is required - my blood pressure is marginally bad... :(
@TheRadicalreels - Sea salt has less effect on your BP? I use sea salt just because it's not processed to death, iodized etc. Interesting. This is a new thing to me (high BP) - any other tips on lowering / controlling it? besides cardio exercise - time to get back to the gym! :)
What a surprise to see a video from you! Marc should challenge you more often. This looks so good I can taste it from here, and I *like* the thought of pistachios. I'll have to try it with them.
@anmoose Well for one thing I gave up my old camcorder and finally found a nice little Cannon with video ability. It's SO much easier, you may actually see more action in the MamboDog court. I've been off so long I forgot how much I enjoy all my friends here - and now, I've been anmoosed, so I know it's going to be a good day!!
@hallbe Hi Ben! I made the last batch with cashews just for fun. That was good too! The pine nuts definitely have a distinctive flavor, but the pistaches are really close.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I don't like my pesto swimming in oil, either, so I agree that 1 cup is usually way too much. I've never made it with pistachios but I'm going to try after watching this.
I'll have to try this with the pistachios! That sounds good. I've only used cashews and pine nuts. Like you, I don't care for salt much.
I enjoyed watching this! RAD

@MamboDogFaceOne I also have High Blood pressure! If I use salt, it's always sea salt. This Texas heat wave has taken it's toll on my Basil... LOL

@Perroquet51 Sometimes it's necessary to oil it up so it's nice and smooth.
