That's funny ! Heaven's edge broke up but Mark Evans the vocalist and Reggie Wu the Guitarist are still playing I they are in a band called Out Loud they play Phila. and little clubs in Burlington County N.j.

looking back on the comment i left 4 months ago, i actually did get ahold of all these bands besides Heavy Bones via torrents. my are they great. i actually had Walls Come Down by EMN stuck in my head this afternoon
@rockfreakmccool you should actually make a part 2 featuring more late 80s early 90s stuff thats a pain in the ass to get ahold of such as Beau Nasty, Southgang, Roxy Blue, Tuff, Kik Tracee, London, Hericane Alice, XYZ, and Wild Boyz
@TheGreatDuck Maybe in terms of commercial viability, but as far as the artistic aspect of metal in this decade goes it was very lack luster to say the least. The only artistic cutting edge bands of the time that had marginal commercial success was the thrash rockers, Guys like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and acts of the nature. The bands who sold the most albums of this time were pretty much just led zeppelin Kiss knock offs doing a shitty job of copying them.
FUCK GRUNGE FUCK NIRVANA FUCK KURT COBAIN AND HIS BUTT BUDDIES FUCK NEVERMIND FUCK THE 90s' MEDIA HAIR METAL RULEZ YOU CUNTS CAN DISS IT ALL YOU WANT BUT ITS BETTER THAN SHIT LIKE CREED AND BLINK 182 AND EVERY GRUNGE/POP PUKE/ALTERNATIVE BAND EVER I WISH I COULD GET AHOLD OF ALOT OF THESE BANDS!!!!!!!!!!!
The only bands from the "Grunge"-era that I care for are Soundgarden (their earlier stuff), Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone (who were more "glam" by far than "grunge), and perhaps the first Peal Jam album. Really though . . . Alice in Chains is my fave. The rest can go to hell. "Hair," "Glam," whatever you call it RULES! I call it good, old, good time, American Hard Rock with melody and GUITAR SOLOS!
@joelpaulsero i know right? much more talented guitarists! as for your grunge bands, AIC i have to say is the most metallic out of all the bands you mentioned and the grunge movement as a whole and their guitarist is pretty good. soundgarden too i just hate chris cornells voice. pearl jam is kinda overrated and i REALLY hate eddies voice but he song Alive has the most decent guitar work. never heard of mother love bone.
Some other great, underrated bands not in the video: Icon Dangerous Toys TNT Bonfire King Kobra Kick Axe Badlands Blue Murder Spread Eagle Kingdom Come Kix In fact,I'd say most of the glam/hair bands were really underrated...I always found it weird that someone who likes AC/DC can say a band such as Kix sucks...
Being a fan of alternative/grunge AND hair metal, I have to point out that many early grunge bands modeled off of the glam style. This is a HUGE misunderstanding: Don't blame the Grunge bands THEMSELVES, blame MEDIA. Many of the bands in this video had some sort of "grunge" in them anyway. It doesn't make sense that Grungers respected heavy metal, but Metalheads looked down on the Grungers. Also, they should just be ROCK bands. That's really all that matters. Screw media. It's just ROCK music!
EMN was fucking gnarly!!! Me and my friends hung with Rick Rule (the singer) when they played Albq NM in late 91/early 92...he was way fucking cool, had bad ass hair too!!!!
Great stuff!! That whole time period was very strange. One minute the record buying public wanted hard rock w/ flair. They wanted to see a rock star up there playing it. The next, it was all about NO IMAGE, and NOT following any artists that had that whole rock star vibe. Cobain killed over a decade of hair metal almost overnight. weird times for all. Many record companies also cleaned house in 1993 or so. The whole industry was upside down.
Dude, Wildside kicked ass beyond real. "Lucy", "Monkey See", "So Far Away" and "Heart and Soul" are my faves...seriously, your album rocked the fuck out....COOL, DUDE!!!
@SpikeMichaels ... Thanks Spike! Too bad WS didn't get to L.A. in 1983 and start THEN, like Poison and the rest that went on to stardom. WildSide was just 3-4 years too late. The deck was stacked against us for sure... BUT we did at least get UTI out of the whole deal. Time capsule...
great documentary! these bands were very underrated. i could name countless gems. one band that i dont see on there are Wild Boyz. one of my all time favorite bands. only got around to release one album and music video in 91. one of the most underrated bands IMO

Doesn't sound bad at all which is astonishing, considering most metal of the 80's besides the thrash stuff and van halen was pretty bad.
