@greatestdirector Uhh no, the song is about boxer Joe Louis, from the 1930s. Max Schmeling and "Ambling Alp" Primo Carnera were German and Italian boxers that Louis defeated to defend his heavyweight title, hence the "give Fascists hell" (Louis and Schmeling fought in June 1937).

Not sure what is giving people these ideas about rebirth and knights, the imagery in the video is ambiguous at times but the song is definitely about boxing. Yeasayer has said so themselves.
