The day i saw optimus prime die was the day all joy went out of my life........ until the best episodes of the entire series the two parter the return of optimus prime happened............ THANKYOU JESUS FOR BRINGING OUR HERO BACK!
This was a great movie. It was a little suck that most of the characters from Season 1 and 2 died before the movie was half over jsut to introduce new characters but it was still awesome. Kup and Springer have always been among my favorites
The director of the 1986 Transformers The Movie was a genious, who'd have come with a Giant MONSTER PLANET EATING OTHER PLANETS? Death of Prime and Megatron where he is reborn as a Galvatron? @obsgia Violence and profanity. Optimus Prime and a slew of others are killed in horrific fashion, Spike says Oh shit, Ultra Magnus says damn it, and Stan Bush sings about all hell breakin' loose (of course that last one also made it in to the last episode of season 3).
@obsgia because it featured the death's of most characters (mainly autobots) from the first 2 season of the series most of them had very horrific deaths. Spike swore (saying oh Shit). Also and entire civilization was killed off before the opening credits ( one of which later got eaten by Sharks?), lots of robots were being dropped into lava inside Unicron. So mainly because of the violence.

@MysticArksRevenge De Laurentiis Entertainment Group (DEG) went bankrupt in 1988. I would imagine the actual owner of the film is Hasbro. Sony just had the distribution rights.
@NickMichalak Ah ha. Well, to tell you the truth, I think those B-movie companies like Cannon and DEG have made the better movies than the famous ones like Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox, but some of the movies made by the famous companies are good.
Every fxckin thing about this movie was FANTASTIC! The animation, the soundtrack (even if it is typical 80s), the story, the cast, etc. The 2007 movie was good, but compared to Transformers: The Movie, Transformers (2007) AIN'T SHXT! My only criticism, and I understand why they did it, was the fact that there weren't enough older characters in the action. This movie should have been longer, following at least five groups (three of Autobots and two of Decepticons).
