Canada's short-sighted move should be denounced, not followed
.
The Canadian government's decision to pull out of the Kyoto Protocol, the only legally binding global agreement on fighting climate change, has sent shivers across the world.
The effects - rising sea levels, unpredictable and violent weather patterns, extreme downpours, etc..increasing desertification - are already going on right now.
The question is, how close are we to the tipping point when the damage to the planet becomes irreversible.
Al Gore is undecided about when he should stop his polluting lifestyle, after his CO2 exhales expire, or after he makes 2 billion from promoting Global Warming
You are a complete idiot! I don't know where you got your facts but they are way way off!!! The frozen Arctic ocean has melted 25 percent more than humans have ever seen. The more it thaws the faster warming will occur. It idiots like you that make me ashamed to call myself first human and second American. EDUCATE YOURSELF!!!
The end is near. 44 million on foodstamps. Twice as many on unemployment and SSN. There is no turning back. No jobs for Americans. Soon China will own our asses. More and more American kids are obese and suffering with diabeties. Most Americans care more about who wins Dancing with the Stars than how many US Soldiers die in a worthless place like Afghanistan. Oh yeah, and Obama just extended the Patriot Act last week- but no one noticed. Go back to sleep America. You are DONE!!!!!!
Al Gore is a FUCKING LIAR and stands to make BILLIONS off cap and trade.... did you know his electric bill is well over $1500,00 per month....ya think he gives a rats ass about HIS carbon foot print! He a fucking liar and a FRAUD!!!
Don't listen to the oil trolls spamming youtube with lies about global warming. Google climate change news and see for yourself what's going on out there
All I here is reduce your carbon. I would think that nature would love carbon since it's the 4th most abundant element in the universe. Maybe we should try to reduce hydrogen since it's the most abundant.
@Nightversionn Thank you for your concern about being informed, I will now share some of that information. By taking icecore samples from many places on earth we have learned a few things like, when temprature goes up Co2 rises shortly thereafter. As the Co2 rises the plants grow faster and become more effcient in proccessing Co2. And the amount of Co2 that humans have introduced is in the tenths of a percent since the industrial age began. We are not doing this, mothernature is.
@sychamp By listening to the consensus of the scientific community in its entirety, we know that global warming is happening and it is being accelerated by human acitivity, irregardless of what oil trolls are paid to say on the internet
@Nightversionn #1 By listening to rhetoric from Al Gore is there a consensus from the scietific community. The scientific comm. can only get funding IF they thow the phrase "due to global warming"... when appling for grants no matter what they study. The worlds "leading" climatoligist do not agree. Green house gases are trapped in the tropispere but merusuments have shown that layer that would hold the heat is not rising in temprature.
@Nightversionn #2 Oceans and volcanos create more Co2 than humans the ocean has risin' due photsythisis the suns increased acivity in the 90's was due to the warming trend since 2000 the tempratures have stablized or dropped.t hats why climategate appeared when the scintist or as I preffer propigandist. where trying to skew the readings. But I don't think a scientist needs to by considered the consensus if the have to Tilte a grant appliction "The study of mange in dogs due to global warming",

Also, it is generally accepted that the Earth has been much wa
rmer than today, for example, in the time of the dinosaurs (the mid-cretaceous period) when the CO2 was 2 to 4 times greater than today (NOAA). More recently, in the prior period between ice ages, just 125,000 years ago, the Earth also was much warmer than today and the sea level much higher - by about 13 to 20 feet (4 to 6 meters) (IPCC).

Al Gore bought a new $8,875,000 house in California. That's almost $9 million of carbon footprint. We already knew that he wasn't too much worried about his own carbon footprint because he never changed his high-flying ways. But it's the location of his new house that is a puzzlement: it's ocean-view property. He clearly warned us that rising ocean levels would flood the coasts.
This new house could mean that he never believed what he said about the oceans rising to flood the coasts

The melting, believed to have been caused by warmer summers, could affect shipping and overall sea levels, as more icebergs calf into the sea, according to the paper published in the March edition of Arctic, published by the University of Calgary's Arctic Institute of North America. Previous studieshave noted a similar shrinking.
"We've been seeing more mass loss since 1985," said Sarah Boon, lead author on the paper and a geography professor at the University of Lethbridge.

@sychamp the problem with co2 is its heat trapping qualities, that's why we need to reduce it in the atmosphere. Please get informed
Nightversionn 1 year ago
@Nightversionn Thank you for your concern about being informed, I will now share some of that information. By taking icecore samples from many places on earth we have learned a few things like, when temprature goes up Co2 rises shortly thereafter. As the Co2 rises the plants grow faster and become more effcient in proccessing Co2. And the amount of Co2 that humans have introduced is in the tenths of a percent since the industrial age began. We are not doing this, mothernature is.

Changes In The Sun Are Not Causing Global Warming, New Study Shows
ScienceDaily 5/12/09
"In research published in Geophysical Research Letters, and highlighted in the May 1 edition of Science, Adams and Pierce report the first atmospheric simulations of changes in atmospheric ions and particle formation resulting from variations in the sun and cosmic rays. They find that changes in the concentration of particles that affect clouds are 100 times too small to affect the climate."

MELTING OF CANADIAN ARCTIC ICE SHEET ACCELERATING
The Devon Island ice cap, which sprawls over more than 5,500 square miles in the Arctic latitudes of Canada, has been shrinking at an increasing rate since 1985, an analysis of nearly 50 years of data concludes.

Are climate skeptics lousy scientists?
The way to confront climate change skeptics is to show that they're wrong - as many climate scientists have done. Hyping a paper that labels climate change skeptics as lousy scientists instead simply reinforces the dangerous perception that climate activists will credulously push any news that might further their case.

The Greenland Ice Sheet is monitored by satellites which have measured changes in gravity around the ice sheet over the last decade. See this "Increasing rates of ice mass loss from the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets revealed by GRACE".
Between 2002 and 2003, the Greenland ice sheet was losing mass at a rate of 137 gigatonnes per year.
The rate of ice loss has more than doubled in less than a decade. The rate of ice loss over the 2008-2009 period was 286 gigatonnes per year.

Should the sun enter another Maunder Minimum over the 21st century, what effect would this have on Earth's climate? Simulations of the climate response if the sun did fall to Maunder Minimum levels find that the decrease in temperature from the sun is minimal compared to the warming from man-made greenhouse gases (Feulner 2010). Cooling from the lowered solar output is estimated at around 0.1°C (with a maximum possible value of 0.3°C)

Scientists at the US National Snow and Ice Centre Data Centre (NSIDC) report today that Arctic sea ice – frozen seawater that floats on the ocean surface – is now at its lowest physical extent ever recorded for the time of year, suggesting that it is on course to break the previous record low set in 2007.

NORTH POLE ICE-FREE BY 2050?
The study did not shed new light on how soon the North Pole may be ice-free in summer, which many climate experts say could happen by 2050, perhaps even earlier.
Melting of floating sea ice and ice shelves adds little to sea level rise, because their entire mass is already in the water. By contrast, ice on land which melts into the sea will add to levels according to the equivalent of its entire weight

Which sounds as if they have already proved it.
Then you say "Geologists are about to consider whether humans themselves have started to influence the geological history of the world"
Which shows they have not even studied it yet.
