  • this video is very bad. wide grip is when you have got 90 degrees and the bar touches your chest. it is a very importand exercise to make the chest big and strong too. iner chest presses aren´t that effecient

  • I bench with a close grip. so if i started to bench with a wider grip, would i be able to bench more? Ive heard wide grip is easier than close grip.

  • @evilmonkey1192 lol no, narrow grip is easier to pump up higher weights. wide is harder.

    try doing push ups with your hands closer to you. then do a wider push up. you'll know what i'm talking about

  • In my benching I really try to avoid touching my chest with the bar. It really puts a lot of strain on your shoulders. cause your pecs stop working when you get too low.

  • @TheTruthHurtsYup Thats poor technique then and knowhere near as beneficial as going all the way down... To put simply touching the chest causes 100% muscle stimulation and twice as much growth as not touching the chest + benching half reps may be more likely to cause injury due to POOR technique...

  • @trixdude Sorry to jump in on a year old comment, but surely as ur chest grows, touchin the chest becomes less of a distance, so how does that extra few degrees which places alot of strain on the shoulders benifit?

  • i have a question, my right pec to me looks wider then my left what grip should i use to fix this? it also seems like its only the bottom half of my left pec thats not as wide. any thoughts?

  • When I started working with close grip bench, I noticed alot more mass being built on the inner part of my pectorals. I know they say it one muscle and you can't target a part...but I completely disagree. When you work with a closer grip...you can contract the inside of the chest more intensely, which can't be done at a wide grip (especially if you have long arms like me). So other trainers are right.

  • Bear in mind that you're pushing the bar a shorter distance the wider your grip is.
