The community on this site is stellar compared to most. It's really what gives YouTube its edge over newer, better featered, flashier (no pun intended) sites. I could never leave YouTubeafter making the friends I have. Keep rocking Marta!

It's crazy, isn't it? I used to work for a start-up that was trying to create a mobile social network on phones and I got rapidly tired of hearing about community community community because it was just a bunch of dummies in a conference room trying to copy MySpace and get rich...

But this is different. It seems to me the community that happens here is organic.

Definitely. I don't understand why people try to copy myspace... I don't like things over there anyway. Too much spam and xxx accounts. I've been involved with another community site for 4 years and enjoy things there. I've met a bunch of folks in my area, most notably Jen. I think that a site that grows from a common theme does better than a myspace-type environment.

I only use MySpace to connect with my younger siblings and keep an eye on them. Which is usually moderately unnerving. I am old.
