The Good, The Bad, and the UGLY on the repeal of DADT:
Good: The military will make effeminate gay men more masculine, which is a good thing. Hate crimes would plummet if gay men acted more Rock Hudson then Perez Hilton.
Bad: ironic that it was repealed by a bunch of libs who hate the military and wouldn't serve in a million years no matter if we had ten 9/11 attacks.
Ugly: people wanting to serve in the military but on their terms, not the military's. Whats next? doctors notes?
As a veteran who served in Iraq, I am insulted that, this worthless piece of shit (Obama) would want to do something like that! Believe me, it is not a good idea and the military has not implemented this yet. Nor will they ever! Soldiers don't want to serve with openly gay people! I didn't want it. Remember that scene on Full Metal Jacket of the blanket party, where they threw a blanket over PVT. Pile and beat him with soap in their socks, that will happen to queers for real in the Army!
@davida3606 I'm a Marine Iraqi veteran, and I agree with whole heartedly. This will do nothing but degrade morale in the ranks and will cause hate crimes. I know from the Marines that there will be blanket parties and GI showers because of this. Obama has done nothing but weaken this nation!!! Just think how Al Queida are laughing at us hearing our so called leader pushing for this that even Islam bans!!!!!!
Obama does not have much of a chance to win another term, because people hate him! All the candidates running against him support an amendment to the US Constitution that will ban gay marriages in the US and all the homosexual marriages and state laws that allow them will be null and void when that happens! They should have added an amendment banning gay marriages way back in the 1950's or better yet all the way back in the 1700's. It should have been amendment number ONE!
LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL @ the military leaders LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Don't ask, don't tell was adopted because: Americans don't like homosexuality and we don't approve of it! It was a compromise to let them in the military. If they served openly, some of them would get attacked. It was for their safety and because of the fact that we Americans don't like gays in the first place! I am an Iraqi Freedom Vet and believe me, people in my unit made fun of two girls in my unit that we knew were gay lovers!
i love how the men in military uniform sit there, dont stand up or clap.
personally i don't get why they can't. i hear the shower arguement alot, but surely you'd rather know theres a gay there with you so you can cover your bits. rather then stand there not knowing their looking.
none of this really affects me anyway im from UK and gays and lesbians can serve in the military :)
Clemburke1111 is right.... the enzyme he's referring to is Androgenic steroids.. When the mother is carrying a fetus in high stress situations, the mother's body starts to attack the fetus like an illness or a foreign body, thereby "femenizing" it.
hey clemburke, i sent you a message privately but i would respond here, do you think the race laws have united blacks and whites more or divided us? do you think the abortion laws have united us or divided us more?
i think you guys can wear wedding rings but to make a federal law is not the answer in my opinion. i am laughing in a way. do you know that over 50% of all babies born in this country are to single moms, first time in history. where are the straight men who are fathers. what has happened to men of character and integrity to support and nurture their children. we are becoming a nation of single parent homes. many in this country are against the death penalty for criminals but for abortion.
david your welcome to your oppinion, but in the african American households its over 90& of fathers are dead beat daddies, shouldnt we repeal marriage laws for them. With all due respect your not giving me a sound reason to keep federal marriage laws away from the homosexuals.
thank you guys for the comments and discussion. we must remember we are all americans of every idea, race, culture and ethnic backgroud but we must stand up for our constitution and against all those who want to destroy it especaiily in washington. most of our young people today dont even have a clue what it says. it is the rock on which our country stands. without it we have anarchy and tyranny. the last many years have proved that to me. our pres and our congress ignore it and look at us
i like the point about pedophiles rapists and murderers. the reason florida has so many is for one they have some of the most liberal laws abuot pedophiles. that is why so many move there. i guess the movement idea works in many ways
one more point i want to make. our constitution was set up to enable people to move from one place to another freely. if you dont like the taxes in new york you can move to new jersey, if you dont like the laws of one state you an move. that is a strenght not a weakness of our republic. when federal gov intrudes to make everyone the same it undermines our liberty and freedom. there are so many unfunded mandates from the federal gov to the states they are killing the states also.
i am not sure that straights are married under federal law. each state has different marriage laws. but thank you and i like discussion that is without all the name calling and vulgar lanquage that is rare here on you tube.
it is not law that will solve this problem, it is our culture of allowing people to live free and with liberty. it is not may right to impose my laws on you or vice versa. that is why i said earlier we are off track here. as i said earlier we have had 800000 babies killed last year alone and 50 million since 73 and no outrage, but if we had followed the constitution then it will have been left up to each state to decide. it might have been legal in mass but not in georgia, that is ok
now see that is the bottom line, you are saying federal law. i guess that is my argument against many things. i think we have enough problems from federal laws. there are so many we dont even know what they are. i am sorry for the situation at the airport but legally they would have no right to bother you in any way. yes it might have to take paperwork but i propose that in our culture you would still be hassled even if federal law was imposed. when gov intrudes it is worse.
one other point to this story. you have to prove that you are legal when you travel to another state that does not have the same laws. you cannot have medical pot in georgia even though you are legal in california if you dont have any proof of it when you travel to georgia, that is just common sense
david as advice from our atty I took my partners name so we could pass as brothers if need be when we travel and we have to carry all paper work and paper work for our two children because we have been acaausted at the airport because of our situation and it was embarrising and humilitating, enough is enoufh gay marriage musst become federal.
@davidcole100 the hospital situation aside...what reason would you need to prove you are married just to travel to florida on vacation? i have taken girl friends to florida and ther were no "bedroom" police at the hotel.
unfortunately here in america over the last 50 years or so the federal gov has perverted the constitution and ignores it to the point that we almost dont have one anymore even though in the military, the congress and all through our gov we swear to defend it but we dont even know what we are defending.
david, I am a firefighter, and Matt is s Pilot for Delta, and both of us have served in the AF, we have two children with our own DNA and we are still considerd less then a pediophile, rapist and a murderer, which as a matter of fact all of which can legall marry in all 50 states.
the problem with most of the social engineering agenda is that when one state passes a law then for some reason washington and the federal gov supports the national effort to make all states support it. that is so unconstitional under the 10th amendment of the united states.
it is simple, drop the ban on gays serving period. it seems that all of these issues obama wants to do is to divide us more and more instead of uniting us at a time of great problems for all americans. we are a hypocritical people in our culture. we killed 800000 babies last year and almost half are black and there is no outrage but rather a celebration and only 787 people were discharged last year for being gay in the military. seems like we are out of touch
that is a good point and iit has been a long time since i was in the service but i dont remember having to put down my sexual preference or state it openly. maybe they do now. most of those in power in washington including the president really does not believe in the constitution anyways. my main question is what is driving this debate and agenda. i bet it will come back to money as it always does with our gov. i have no problem with anyones sexual preference but dont make a big deal of it
you can be anything you want and your sexual preference should be personal so why is it so important to express it to the world. i dont go around shouting about being a heterosexual or have a political agenda about it. we are losing our liberties more and more by an intrusive federal gov and even those of you wanting all of these special considerations will find that you are going to lose more than you gain when gov takes more power for washington and the feds. just a thought
david, Straights expresss their sexual preference to the world with wedding bands, pictures of lloved ones talking about "my husband" "my wife" etc et All of my buddies are straight and they love to talk about hot women all the time
good point, i am not saying that gays should not be allowed to serve but to the point that you make a valid point. i truely believe that if a state allows gay marriage and another state does not then that is ok according to the constitution. the 10th amendment is so detailed in these issues. i do not believe sexual preference should be used against serving just not so wild about the in your face expression of either sexual preference. it is a private issue and not for social engineering
actuallly what is the true agenda about this issue, it has worked very well for many years now without to many problems. why does obama want to experiment with the military. most people recognize the obvious negatives quickly but then what is the true purpose. the military is a volunteer service and you have many rules that dont apply to the public at large. you know it going in so why bring this up with so many crucial issues to address. he seems to always keep something stirred up between us
13,000 gay service members discharged is not what I would call working. It is unconstitutional and wrong to expect gays to lie to stay in the military. As a heterosexual service member I have never had to fear being discharged if someone knew my sexual orientation. This should be the same for gays also.
rn, actually most gay men are not Bruno's its just that they are attention whores and make it look like all gay's are flamboyant. You would be suprised that gay men are Cops, Firefighters, Navy, AirForce, Army, Etc etc. Its just that we love to focus or Jermanine the sissy hairdresser.
I've been in the military for almost 30 years. I support the removal of this unconstitutional policy. I am sworn to defend the Constitution, and yet my organization violates it? That's not right.
i dont think it violates the constitution either, i have read it many times and gay rights in society is left to the states under the 10th amendment not for the federal gov. but i believe in a strict view of our constitution not the loose everyones interpretation we have seen for the last 50 years
David, a gay couple can not travel from state to state on vacation and be married in one state and not married in the other state while vistiting his or her parents or a College reunion,, this has happend with horrible results and a loved one is turned away from the hospital while the other half dies. This was a story that happend to a couple in Florida that was visiting from a gay marriage state.
i am not sure that you are right in that story. if you are married in new york and travel to florida, it is recognized that you are married under new york law. i would have to know more about that particular case. not doubting you just need more info on it. our constitution is very clear on states rights. same was in the day of slavery, if you traveled from north carolina to new york in 1859 with a slave it did not mean the slave was free just because you were in new york
david, Trust me I am a floridian living in Boston ,,while MA validates your marriage Florida is calle d the anti gay state and will treat you like two single adults nothing more nothing less. That is a fact, not a theory. Trust me I know.
@Clemburke1111 ..last time i checked ther is no border guard at the state line checkig papers here in America.....and whenever i have wanted to see someone i knew in the hospital i just asked the family and they got me....or i said i was a relative...gays just make shit up...they will never be happy no matter what laws are changed. BECAUSE THEY WILL AKWAYS NOW DEEP DOWN INSIDE THEY ARE LIVING A LIE.
i just read some of that case, yes it was atrocious that she was not allowed to spend the last minutes with her spouse. the federal court dismissed the case although i did not read that yet on the decision. again i state the fact under the constitution they should have been recognized under mass law to being a married couple irregardless of florida laws against marrying in the state of florida
@Clemburke1111 ...well i just have a certian way of dealing with people...for some reason my clean cut image and serious expression allow me to get away with alot.
but in my opinion homosexuality is wrong and it should be left to the privacy of ones home ..if that the life some are going to lead.
glcm, then shouldnt straights keep there private lives at home? . Heterosexuals wear wedding rings talk of wife and husband and single straights talk about sex and hot guys and hot girls, why are you not telling them to be still as well?
@Clemburke1111 well i for one keep my life pretty private...
now do you think that i am going to listen to some guy talk about his BF? or some lesbian for that matter...the answer is NO! no way in hell...not going to happen in my presence..no sir
glcm, and I agree with you, if you are not at ease with any conversation at all you should walk away or ask them to please reframe from that conversation. All of my buddies are straight and love to talk about womens boy parts etc etc, I am ok with it I guess, but if one day I was not I would leave the room. or end the friendship etc etc,,I have choices and so do you.
@Clemburke1111 well i do my best just to stay clear of gays ..and i am all for avoiding violence...so thats why i stay clear of them....because i have had situations in the work place where gays have been very vocal and pushy......well i just stay away from them so i dont become violent when pushed.
glcm, like I stated before all my co-workers ( firefighter) are all straight and we have a blast together and are like brothers, maybe you have anger issues that go beyond the gay thing.
@Clemburke1111 ..um no i dont have a anger issue....i have a very stressful job and never lose my temper...but i dont want to be around gays and i have ran across some that just cant help but be vocal to the point of ridicules.....but like i said if i am able to walk away then thats what i do...but if they puch the issue...well its ther bad lcuk then.
I do understand that can be upsetting, but can you imagine as a firefighter I am in a house with 7 other men, and all of them talk about pussy from sun up to sun down,,should I be upset because that is constantly talking about their straight life style?
@Clemburke1111 ..if you get upset then handle it as you see fit. i tend not to talk about my private life ...however, heterosexuality is the only normal sexual preference.
gl, thats fine ,but science has already come to that conclussion. I understand Science is worthless with all their silly cures for cancer's and fighting off infection. etc etc
Your correct there is no gay gene but there e is an enzyme that is relased when the mother carrying the fetus when under high stress that can cause the fetus to later on in life to become gay. I was rasied by a Scientist in Cocoa Beach Florida( home of NASA) and most people in the area as far back as the 1960's knew that it was inborn, the rest of the nation was not ready for this.
@Clemburke1111 ....i have never heard of this and if it were true since the 1960's it would be very well known by now.....weather people were ready or not.
I think you misunderstood, Scientist knew you didnt choose that "life style" but did not have resounding evidence back then,as My Father said why would any one want to be ostrisized? I was one of 5 boys and they are all straight,,he knew I didnt choose.
I care about the morale of my troops, and my primary mission is to defend the Constitution of the U.S. I can't defend the Constitution fully while the military is violating it with the don't ask, don't tell policy. I don't allow my troops to violate others' rights regardless if it will hurt their morale.
rn,,survive? I am a firefightewr, My Partner is a pilot For Delta and both have served, I am just saying if we had it to do over again we would not serve again and no gay man or women should serve, and I am agreeing with you so why the cut downs ? Straights are never satisfied.
@Clemburke1111 You know I kinda thought about this last night and I don't think I really give a shit anymore. It's not like the few who will volunteer are going to be a bunch of Brunos. Thank you for your service

Are you really going to refuse their help because one of them might be gay?

i am not sure that you are right in that story. if you are married in new york and travel to florida, it is recognized that you are married under new york law. i would have to know more about that particular case. not doubting you just need more info on it. our constitution is very clear on states rights. same was in the day of slavery, if you traveled from north carolina to new york in 1859 with a slave it did not mean the slave was free just because you were in new york

david, Trust me I am a floridian living in Boston ,,while MA validates your marriage Florida is calle d the anti gay state and will treat you like two single adults nothing more nothing less. That is a fact, not a theory. Trust me I know.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
please tell me the case for the story you told. i would love to investigate it on my own because that is very much against the constitution
davidcole100 2 years ago
david, No problem this was called the Jackson memorial hospital case in south Florida about a lesbian couple.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ..last time i checked ther is no border guard at the state line checkig papers here in America.....and whenever i have wanted to see someone i knew in the hospital i just asked the family and they got me....or i said i was a relative...gays just make shit up...they will never be happy no matter what laws are changed. BECAUSE THEY WILL AKWAYS NOW DEEP DOWN INSIDE THEY ARE LIVING A LIE.
glcm437 2 years ago
glcm, its the Jackson memorial Hospital case it is not made up , this was factual and horrible.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
i just read some of that case, yes it was atrocious that she was not allowed to spend the last minutes with her spouse. the federal court dismissed the case although i did not read that yet on the decision. again i state the fact under the constitution they should have been recognized under mass law to being a married couple irregardless of florida laws against marrying in the state of florida
davidcole100 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ..well when one of my friends was in the hospital i just said i was family....walked right in...no problems
glcm437 2 years ago
gl, I am sure that happend, but I have been asked to show my ID and proof
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ...well i just have a certian way of dealing with people...for some reason my clean cut image and serious expression allow me to get away with alot.
but in my opinion homosexuality is wrong and it should be left to the privacy of ones home ..if that the life some are going to lead.
glcm437 2 years ago
glcm, then shouldnt straights keep there private lives at home? . Heterosexuals wear wedding rings talk of wife and husband and single straights talk about sex and hot guys and hot girls, why are you not telling them to be still as well?
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 well i for one keep my life pretty private...
now do you think that i am going to listen to some guy talk about his BF? or some lesbian for that matter...the answer is NO! no way in hell...not going to happen in my presence..no sir
glcm437 2 years ago
glcm, and I agree with you, if you are not at ease with any conversation at all you should walk away or ask them to please reframe from that conversation. All of my buddies are straight and love to talk about womens boy parts etc etc, I am ok with it I guess, but if one day I was not I would leave the room. or end the friendship etc etc,,I have choices and so do you.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 well i do my best just to stay clear of gays ..and i am all for avoiding violence...so thats why i stay clear of them....because i have had situations in the work place where gays have been very vocal and pushy......well i just stay away from them so i dont become violent when pushed.
glcm437 2 years ago
glcm, like I stated before all my co-workers ( firefighter) are all straight and we have a blast together and are like brothers, maybe you have anger issues that go beyond the gay thing.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ..um no i dont have a anger issue....i have a very stressful job and never lose my temper...but i dont want to be around gays and i have ran across some that just cant help but be vocal to the point of ridicules.....but like i said if i am able to walk away then thats what i do...but if they puch the issue...well its ther bad lcuk then.
glcm437 2 years ago
Push the issue? Like come on to you?
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ..oh i dont think any gay guy would be so dumb as to try that .
what i mean is i have ran into gays in the work place that want to make sure people know they are gay and constantly discuss thier gay lifestyle.
glcm437 2 years ago
I do understand that can be upsetting, but can you imagine as a firefighter I am in a house with 7 other men, and all of them talk about pussy from sun up to sun down,,should I be upset because that is constantly talking about their straight life style?
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ..if you get upset then handle it as you see fit. i tend not to talk about my private life ...however, heterosexuality is the only normal sexual preference.
glcm437 2 years ago
glcm, if its a prefernece exactly what age did you choose to be straight?
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ........i am not and have never been attracted to anything thing other then women.
...you will not convince me that gays are born that way.....the rise in bisexual people would indicate that people chose what they do.
glcm437 2 years ago
gl, thats fine ,but science has already come to that conclussion. I understand Science is worthless with all their silly cures for cancer's and fighting off infection. etc etc
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ..um no science has not concluded that people are born gay....and please dont tell me about some study in georgia.
ther is no "gay gene"
glcm437 2 years ago
Your correct there is no gay gene but there e is an enzyme that is relased when the mother carrying the fetus when under high stress that can cause the fetus to later on in life to become gay. I was rasied by a Scientist in Cocoa Beach Florida( home of NASA) and most people in the area as far back as the 1960's knew that it was inborn, the rest of the nation was not ready for this.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 ....i have never heard of this and if it were true since the 1960's it would be very well known by now.....weather people were ready or not.
glcm437 2 years ago
I think you misunderstood, Scientist knew you didnt choose that "life style" but did not have resounding evidence back then,as My Father said why would any one want to be ostrisized? I was one of 5 boys and they are all straight,,he knew I didnt choose.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
If there is a rise in being Bi, then that's all due to reality t.v. lol.
austiiiiiin 2 years ago
@glcm437 And I have never been attracted to anything other than men. You don't know what you're talking about.

Bad idea!

@jsancholla Agreed! Seems no one gives a fuck about troop morale
rngd311 2 years ago
rn,,, I agree, as a gay male , I would not serve america if my life depended on it, Amen.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
I care about the morale of my troops, and my primary mission is to defend the Constitution of the U.S. I can't defend the Constitution fully while the military is violating it with the don't ask, don't tell policy. I don't allow my troops to violate others' rights regardless if it will hurt their morale.
badad4444 2 years ago
jsan,,, I am a gay man & I agree, I dont thing gays should serve and I would notserve this nation even if I was drafted.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
Good thing we have such a large volunteer military with recruiting levels almost always above %100. Highly doubt you would last a week in infantry
rngd311 2 years ago
rn,,survive? I am a firefightewr, My Partner is a pilot For Delta and both have served, I am just saying if we had it to do over again we would not serve again and no gay man or women should serve, and I am agreeing with you so why the cut downs ? Straights are never satisfied.
Clemburke1111 2 years ago
@Clemburke1111 You know I kinda thought about this last night and I don't think I really give a shit anymore. It's not like the few who will volunteer are going to be a bunch of Brunos. Thank you for your service
rngd311 2 years ago
There is no draft Thank reason. I would not want to serve with those who did not volunteer.
