  • Anyone can be the gunner. I doesn't matter what rate you are.

  • I was in the Navy in Greece and had the opportunity to do some of this training....man, how much fun was that?

  • what rating for u have to be to be the gunner? i looked up gunners mate but it was most of a teaching job

  • lol @ the aux in the back

  • One more question. What are the civilian jobs that you can get into by having this job?

  • @MonsterMotoxx Harbor Police. Municipal Police. Maritime Immigration Agency. Border Patrol. DEA. Customs. US Marshals. TUG Boat Captain. Freight Captain. Depends on what you want to do. But the Coast Guard deals with civil law enforcement so most Police Agencies like us more since we have more interaction with the public than military police.

  • Well first you have to join the Coast Guard. If you want to be a coxswain then you should choose boatswainsmate as your rate (job). Then you go through a number of qualification processes. You must first become a crewmember, then get coxswain (boat operator) qualified. Tactical coxswain is the next step up from that.

  • How does one qualify for this job

  • Amazing, I had a hand in putting the Tact Coxs course together. Reading the book I wrote lol.

  • My Fav The 25' Fast for what it is.. Weighs a shyt load

  • @platinums10

they suck terribly. we use the RBHS and i cant stand that piece of crap.

  • does anyone know if you get to see the world in the coast guard like the army and navy?

  • Sure, I visited 47 countries in the 9 years I was in.

  • @revolver1750 Yes, you can travel the world, I've been everywhere

  • @revolver1750 there is a chance for deployment to anywhere where the United states has a seaside base. The navy's slogan is "Join the Navy. See the world." so that would be the ideal route for traveling. The coast guard is largely a domestic force. After all, they were traditionally (and originally) part of the department of the treasury!

  • @Hugh33h

we were DOT before We were DHS. Ive been in 5 years. 3 years of that were on a ship were i saw 16 different countries. we do deployments all over the world. a 378 will take you anywhere from africa to japan to guam to austrailia to iraq and bahrain. we do quite a whole lot and have the authority the NAVY doesnt have to do boardings and seasures on the high seas. anytime the NAVY does a boarding, they have CG with them. Anyone who says different is lying.

  • @bipolar156 um i was in the navy for many years and your dead wrong we do need or wait for the cg to do boarding or seasures and before you say anything else my wife is in the cg soo... please stop tell people this

  • Im gonna be a coast guard!

  • Where can I buy one of those fast boats? They are kickass!!!

  • theyre made by safe boat. they make civillian models.

  • @chairde
