  • brilliant!

  • theres no way hes not trolling...

  • @AdmiralShizzle

    What, who?

  • Was this taken from a live DVD?

  • It Sounds like its inspired by Pink Floyd's Intersteller Overdrive. Anyone see a resemblance? Kinda cool

  • @blackhawkfima

it`s actually inspired much more by tweedy`s affinity for krautrock; especially the work of "NEU" and "Can". if you listen to anything these two bands did, you will make afew interesting discoveries. the beat used in "spiders" for example is known in krautrock as "motorik".

generally speaking, "spiders" is much too steady (or "motorik" if you will) to be derived from "interstellar overdrive"...the affinities end in the general "drugginess" of the sound I`d say.

  • He should invite Neil Young to play this song with him.

  • FABULOUS!!! GREAT !!! THUMBS UP!!!

  • Outstandig!! fantastic...

  • Saw them perform this at Solid Sound Fest 2011. The crowd went nuts! Great jam!

  • SHIT SONNNNNN!!!!

  • a band from the midwest in the greatest city on earth and this is what happens.

  • @MrHippobippo

I'll give you the band, awesome without a doubt, but beantown has it all over the windy city

  • @bosstones17 sorry, i was talking about barcelona, and there is no discussion on that point.

  • @MrHippobippo Well I've never been there so you may be right

  • Heroes, piece for piece all heroes!

  • The guitar in this version of the song screams early Pink Floyd, I like it.

  • AWESOME!

  • Fabulous performance, but I hate you can barely hear the bass in these kinds of TV specials.

  • SUPERB performance.

  • drove 8 hrs acros CANADA to see jeff rock out!!

  • @pinaymootang I bet it was totally worth it, too!

  • Sounding very early Floyd here

  • Roll on Thursday 16th September. Never mind the pope coming to Glasgow that day. The mighty Wilco are in town at the barras.

  • liking your videos and do you have any suggestions on my next video. watch and comment on my videos thankyou

  • love the finger pad thingy that Nels uses (not sure of its exact name but love its effects. wish wilco would bring the weird/abstract/electronic more like in this song)

also: song is ferocious, esp. live.

  • AHAHA LOOOOVE GLENN

  • Don't they explode into the chorus again while the crowd is clapping? They did it at the Calgary show I went to in February, but this was awhile ago so I wonder if they did it then. Either way, I love all versions of this song: the droning, dry album version, the chaotic, jam-like live version, and the calm, melodic acoustic version played by Jeff.

  • jeff is hot!

  • simplemente espectacular

  • They know exactly what they're doing.

  • Total rockasm.

  • What show is this? They are rocking out. Just heard this song for the first time at their Buffalo show, blew my mind.

  • This show was recorded at Barcelona, Primavera Sound Festival 2008. The show was entirely shown on catalan TV... Really amazing!

  • This outstanding video by a smoking hot band gets 1870 views in 4 months. A crappy American Idol video gets 2,473,117 views in 4 months. The Apocalypse is upon us!

  • thats the way its always been. really if you heard a bunch of idiot 12 year olds talking about this song, would you think it's as 'smoking hot'?

  • well if everyone loved this it wouldn't be as cool lol.....that's the way it is....

  • @5891jonathan those people most likely cannot think or even want to. *this* music strikes there brains with a thought process. no bueno for them but bueno for us. =)

  • @5891jonathan No it isn't. Here's why. Of those 2,473,117 people who watched the American Idol video, almost all will forget about it within a couple of weeks. People who watch videos by bands like Wilco tend to be more involved in the music than American Idol viewers are. It's not about numbers but about quality of experience.

  • This song is ten minutes of incomprehensible lyrics, a lot of gratuitous atonal guitar wanking by Mr. Tweedy, and it doesn't even really have a tune. So why do I love it so much, and want to listen to it again and again? Fuck, I love music. It's such a mystery.

  • (To be fair, it's not really 'atonal' guitar wanking - as Schoenberg said, 'atonal' doesn't really mean anything. 'Chromatic' guitar wanking, then.)

  • I love watching the songs from A Ghost is Born with Jeff doing the solos. I love Nels and all, but it's like the solos are just as personal as the lyrics for Jeff. Love watching him go at it.

  • i agree, i like nels and all but how can jeff not do the solo for at least that's what you said? that entire part of the song has so much energy and emotion in it only the creator can do it true justice

  • jeff still does do that solo..

  • not when i saw them in philly last year

  • i saw them in coney island this summer and jeff did it

  • 7:40

Glenn destroys drumstick...picks up another without a hitch.

  • man's a friggin' legend! the shows where he supports Jeff on Heavy Metal Drummer and Laminated Cat are superb

  • Great, great version of Kidsmoke... gets better every time I watch it. Jason Orr, Dan Slyman, Patrick Gary...get your asses over here & watch this video!
