If you have a m16 RIFLE, can you replace with adjustable buttstock?
I think the tube and the spring is a problem because I think the RIFLE must used the bigger spring (tube too of course), if you change then the small tube and small spring not STRONG enough for the rifle. OK to change for a Carbine (M4 model)

@dasdew2 There are a few companies that manufacture laminate stocks for the AR-15 however we do not carry any at this time. 2. Not all parts are replaceable. Eg the sear block. And you cant replace aluminum front sights on a gas block with polymer gas block sights unless you want your gas block to be covered in molten plastic.
@abc123456person Actually you can replace the A frame sight/gasblock with just about any kind of form and function, from the standard A-frame to a dedicated low profile gas block and to the more popular flip up sights/gas block combo. The only polymer front sight that I know of is the Magpul and they don't go on the gas block.
I have an M16 A4 with a fixed stock that I want to replace with a Magpul CTR. Will the buffer length matter? or do I have to get a carbine buffer? If so what would you recommend?
@iamcondescending Actually the thumbhole stock you're describing is actually hollow and often Fiberglass or impact polymer making it just as light as the original stock..
if you can change a tire on a car than you can work on the ar yourself. but since you are asking this question i suggest you go to a gunsmith and let someone with skill do it for you
It pushes forward on the rear recieverpin to keep that in place once the pin is pushed in.(of course there's a small part between the spring and the pin.)
Picked that same ACE stock up from you guys a few months ago, it's great. I installed mine without the included recoil pad, though. It's considerably lighter than the A2 stock, and has a number of points for sling attachment.

@CharlieDoan It would most likely use a mil-spec buffer tube, so just choose your replacement stock accordingly and it will work.

2. Not all parts are replaceable. Eg the sear block. And you cant replace aluminum front sights on a gas block with polymer gas block sights unless you want your gas block to be covered in molten plastic.

SMOOTHxOPERATOR83 2 years ago
You can do it all yourself. Just buy a book or do searches at ar15 dotcom.
ferret6677 2 years ago
you can do all the work your self if you would like. But if you are not sure how to do the project you are working on i would take it to a gun smith.
