I love how this moment is so intense but the music is all happy lol. Anyways, I was down there for the pony swim that year too! I'm not sure what day I went to the beach but i remember it being really harsh, the waves. I'm going again this year. It's so much fun!
omg me and my mom and brother were swimming on that day we tried swimming out to the sand bar..it was so bad we like almost died...i have never seen a rip tide that bad there and i have been going there for like 13 years
Well I am from the mountains, so I am not too familiar with the tides or the currents. But it looks like you got the picture anyway. I am sure that most people figured it out.
i was'nt being condescending btw, my first longer comment was not added for some reason, so i was just explaining something that is frequently misrepresented on tv and by the general public that makes out a rip current as something that will pull you under when in reality a rip current pulls you offshore. you can see the distrubance in the water where the rip is located, sorta foamy, "dirty" looking water going out to sea.
Actually, a riptide is just a strong current taking you out, while a undertow takes you underwater, because the water under the waves is just swirling around, that's what keeps you under
Those Lifeguards are awesome. They saved my life. I got caught in the under tow and had given up . I was goin under for the last time when they snatched me from the ocean. God Bless them and keep them safe

guys its a rip current, not a undertow, theres no such thing
look at the NOAA website or the united states lifesaving website for rip current info
