  • Awesome work!

What's the eye made out of, glass? I'm unsure of what to buy, and what can be used in the oven..

I love your dragons, will totally buy one when I can afford it.

    <3

  • Love the development.

How long did it take to make it all ? Must have taken weeks.

  • @Zoch 1 week.

  • @Zoch The artwork portion took 1 week. And the sculpture portion took about 5 days.

  • Im just starting out with this and am extreamly nervous to use apatures! So Im guessing you just mold the wires in the wanted general layout.. the bones.. and the foil is used as a bulker so you dont use as mutch clay? Do you need anything to secure the clay to the foil or just lay it on? Also, last thing, do you sculpt individual scales and apply them to the "skin" clay overly or to you carve me out of the clay over lay? Would love a tutorial!

  • @xAzriphalex I just lay the sculpey over the foil. I keep layering it on like muscle, then I sculpt it further. Scales are the last added texture layer.

  • At 0:20, is that masking tape on the tin foil? Does that burn during baking?

  • @TheBlackParadeHasYou Yes, it's masking tape. I haven't had a problem with it since it's inside the sculpture itself permanently.

  • very nice, and nice to see it as it progresses too. Which type of super sculpy do you use? Or is 'super sculpy' the type itself? Also how well does it set, compared to clay? I like clay but the ease of using a home oven and being able to use foil and wire to build is very appealing.

  • @salzab Super sculpey, is the type itself. I use the beige one. You can get it on amazon. I like it a lot better than regular clay. It's easier to handle and smooth out. Yes, using the home oven is really convenient to get projects done in a timely manner while at home.

  • What kind of wire did you use? Because I used copper wire on one of my miniature skeletons and it kind of tinted its arm...

  • @AnimeLovr4 I use solid copper wire.

  • Do you make each individually, or (to clarify from the video) do you have a mould? I can imagine it would be a pain to make alot of them otherwise!

  • @EmpressOfNerds I make each scale individually with my hands and very small balls of sculpey. I place them on the sculpture one-by-one. There is no mold for the scales.

  • @sixthleafclover Ah. And the general shape/base? I think that's what I was trying to get at.

Anyway, they're adorable! Great work! :D

  • @EmpressOfNerds Nope. I just take a ball of sculpey and mold it with my hands.

  • shit, how?

  • how to get you get different eyes in after you've molded it?

  • @victorianwinter I insert eyes into my mold, then pour the ceramic mix in. The eyes are permanent.

  • They are very, VERY lovely <3!!! Oh and may I ask what the name of the sound track is what you're using in this video?

  • @blueskdragonFX "Way Out West - Chasing Rainbows" . You can buy it at amazon MP3 download.

  • @sixthleafclover

    I'll try youtube first ;3

    Anyways much obliged for telling.

  • what material do you use to sculpt it? is it some kind of wax? and where could I get some?

  • @renashadow I use "Super Sculpey". You can buy it at your local craft store or buy online.

  • @sixthleafclover oh thanks :)

  • do you ever sell them unpainted so the buyer can paint one?

  • @TesseriShira I can sell you one unpainted if you like. You can leave a order at my website and just specify in the custom paint instructions box that you would like it "unpainted". I only need to know what eye color you want.

  • unbelievable

my eyes are nearly falling out O.O
