  • My left mouse button is broken and sunken in on my touchpad, can you please explain how to remove the touchpad so I can replace it? That will be very nice thanks.

  • Thanks

  • The quality of video is great. i would really appreciate if you could tell me how to get the back cover out once you have taken all the screws out. i tried but it seems to be held or there could be some sort of ...

  • Need to replace cracked power button (right side) on FW235J...are steps similar to power jack replacement vid you posted? Any special precautions I need to take when replacing?

  • Hi sorry how did you pop the case out, cause in my one there is a 15 pin connector that doesnt allow me to remove the case, does your one have that?

  • Power jack. How did you get it out? Mine fused out and am replacing it

  • @djlatino101

    I don't know. Haven't really done that!

  • @GreubsAkaRTG Actually wasn't that hard. Ordered the new part, Unscrewed the bottom like you did, pop open the speaker cover, unscrew that piece of metal under the left speaker, and the rest is self explanatory.

  • ok i have a pretty big problem i was wondering if you could help. where my i plug in my charger and where the power button is they are loose and move alot could you please show me how to take these of and put them on thanks in advance

  • @TYLER8717

yea mine's doing the same thing. It's not causing any problems with charging so I would not worry about it too much. Are you having trouble charging?

  • @TYLER8717 mine is doing this too and it affected my computer immensely because now it will not even charge. did you find out how to fix this problem? im about to open mine up

  • can u plz show us how to open up the lcd screen ? thanks

  • @fahadtirmizi

I am sorry I can't. I have no probalmes with my LCD, and I don't want to risk any damage to it by trying to open it!

  • That screwdriver is actually from Sony themselves!! They send it to me when they send me a replacement BD-ROM drive!! Really great screwdriver!!

  • You should change your title to "closing up" instead of "opening up." All you did here is to show us how to put all the screws back in.

  • @jcbarrozo What I wrote is written!

  • @GreubsAkaRTG Misleading!

  • @jcbarrozo

well, this is part 2, meaning there is a part 1 that shows more stuff. If u have not watched it yet, go watch it, and then decide!!

  • hey will this work on a FZ series? cuz mine also needs a clean up on the inside :<

  • @HornyMonkey87

Hey, I am not fully sure. If the laptop has the same kind of design, with the round plug, it might. But whatever you do, do it at your own risk

  • mine also creaks when I play around with it, do you think thats normal? I can push it all the way to the other hinge.

  • do you think its a problem? do you think it poses a major risk?

  • does the power port on yours seem a little wobbly? I mean the power port housing on the side of the laptop, is this normal?

I mean a little play not bobbling around.

  • @WorldForeverChanged

yea.. mine's a little wobbly too

  • i was wondering can you upgrade the processor on this laptop i have an vgn fw590f3b with a core 2 duo and an ati radeon hd 4570 or 60 cant remember with a blu ray burner and an 720 p native screen so i was wanting to put an intel i7 to make it even better

  • @hardwood29

I would say it's more trouble than it's worth, though I may be wrong!

  • I noticed that the area where your hand rests is not "stained" or worn. I was wondering how you were able to keep it that way or how you were able to remove the wear?

  • @azntranc3951 lol, you can't remove ware...

  • I got the NW20EF can I open it the same way?

  • @jorgelunaalvarez I would say yes, but just be careful not to force anything apart when something seems reluctant to come apart. And take care to remove the ODD, HDD, & RAM first. If it's still under warranty, its probably not a goof idea. And do it on your own risk!

  • Oh thanks... but how do you take that thing the odd hdd and ram? I think ill check your fist vid...

  • @jorgelunaalvarez

No the first video does not have it. All you have to do is remove the screws on top of the RAM, & HDD compartments, and remove the screws that are directly under the ODD bay. I think Sony might have the PDFs about those in the support web site. That's where I learned it from. I had to replace my ODD, & sony sent the PDF to me.

  • Looks kinda hard, I just want to clean my fan anyway... is there any other easier way ? :S

  • @jorgelunaalvarez

Well if it's couple of years old, & the laptop is getting unusually hot, I think the best way is to actually clean the vents and fan by opening it. My laptop processor temp was hitting 103 degree celcius! That's just 2 degrees below the max temp for the processor!

  • Mine is not that old I got it for Christmas I just noticed that sometimes the fan start to work at full speed and but is not that hot just quite hot. but I was thinking maybe is a bit dirty so I was trying to look for help on how to open it to clean it. I got one can of air though that might remove the dirt...

  • @jorgelunaalvarez

In that case no need to open. It's okay for the fan to go up & down. If you want, monitor the CPU temp using coreTemp, and see where it usually hovers. If it's about 15-20 degrees below max temp @ peak load for like 5 minutes, u r fine. The air can should do it.
