Celine/Selene/Salene, our 10-11 yr old was put down today. She had cancer of the tongue, and we didn't want her to starve or choke to death. 10-11 years is too short a time to know such a precious, loving cat.
i just put my cat down (shes 17 years old ) she wasnt eating no matter what i gave her..only drank liquids..the vet said she was dehydrated and her kidneys were shutting down, because of this her gums developed disease, i ended her suffering but inever thought...out of no where in the vet office i started crying - even when i got home i fell tothe floor and cried ..*RIp Curly- ill love u always, btw: those who make fun of us r selfish n onyl care for themselves, as to why they dnt care.
We had to put our 14 yr old cat to sleep today 10/31/11. We got him as a rescue years ago. He was just a little guy that never was a bother. We thought that his illness would pass, but as the days went by, he got worse. Our last show of love to him was to take him to our vet and end his life. It was painless to him, but broke our hearts. All who have lost a companion know this feeling.

My 16 1/2 yr. old black cat went to the rainbow bridge this morning. I always called her Alice, "The Wonderland Cat". My love for her was so deep and I found this song last night because I knew today was the day. She had a stroke yesterday am and was not in any pain, but alert enough for us to spend the night comforting her and telling her how very much she meant to us. I never had children and I raised her from a tiny kitten who had to be bottle fed. She was my life. Bless you Alice. Thank You.

I know how everybody feels. It's been four years last month that I had to put my six year old male cat Shadow down because he suffered from feline aids and feline leukemia. he was 19, we were the same age at the time. this is my 2nd yr living my life without him. its very hard.i grew up with him. He had a blood clot and it stopped the blood from getting to his legs so he was paralyzed.& barely could breathe. ive never felt so broken/empty as i did that day. holding the tiny face mask of air on to his little mouth and nose. I cry often. I had a abusive childhood & he was the only one I could talk to for a long time about it.
My mom surprised me with this norwegian forest cat, she was 1 when i got her...but she ran away but came back then she ran away again, she never came back for 3 weeks. my dad found her dead, her neck was broken, the coyotes got to her, she was only 2 years old........I miss her so much!!

My 8 year old male was found paralyzed in the legs today, not sure what happened. I love him so much I've had him for 8 years since he was 4 weeks old. He always knew when I really needed him and I can't afford the tests he will need. He most likely will be put down. I am so upset. I love you Anatoly.

Things seem to get worse...My 16 year old jus died yesterday laying in my arm and it was terrible as she tried to win the fight kept trying to breathe...she was taken to the vet clinic and creamated. Now a day later I figured out my neighbors dog that i love is going to be eauthinized for his pain in his hips. Not a great week I love you Girly <3 <3 I miss you baby :(

Reminds me of my cat, Katy. She died almost two years ago and I still miss her today. I miss having her curled up right beside me at night and when it was cold, she would get as close to me as she could. Over the August of 2010, I lost the cat that has been alive my whole life. He was not only my best friend, but he was the only one who understood me. Some people say it's bad to have outdoor cats, but it's best to let them enjoy their lives. I wish I would've known, I would've spent the whole entire day with him, and let him go on my lap. I watched a 6 week old kitten die before. His name was mango and he was a stray cat and flees were sucking the life life out of him. We went to the vet and it was too late to save him. Even if they did give him a treatment he still would have died. :(

Let me start by saying that I am a 41 yr. old man.(laugh if you want) But on August 8 2010, I had to put my best friend, a 9yr old orange tabby cat, to sleep after it was attacked and bitten in the stomach. @allnameda141311 Hi, why would anyone laugh at a mature man who shows compassion for his pet? Our pets are family members and sometimes its up to us to give them a final show of love when they are hurting too much. If your cat could have talked it would have asked you to go and adopt another kitty at a shelter, love it and give it a home. Twice we had to have a cat put to sleep, both times they had painful cancer and were suffering and each time we got another kitty who loved us.
@allnameda141311 My 18 yr. old baby just lost the battle with cancer, I made the choice to put her under while they had her asleep so she wouldn't suffer anymore. No one will make fun of you for loving someone. My friends thought I was crazy because I loved my mine so much. The thing I always tell myself is that, they will not be suffering anymore and nothing else can hurt them. ~It's not really the goodbye that hurts...It's the memories that follow...

@Hawksayer95 I'm sorry to hear that, truthfully I can somewhat fathom what your feeling because I lost my baby only a couple of years after we lost our other cat. He was 22 yrs. old. The vet told us it was a miricale he lived so long :). But it is still hard no matter what the case. I will send a prayer for your little friend :)

This is a beautiful song, it is very true. I had to euthanise my cat and it was the hardest decision to make. My last words to her were what she would see on the other side. I have always hoped I was right. This song also applied to my ferret who died four years ago, it is a wonderful tribute to all animals that have passed on.

In the last month I have had one of my cats shot, and one of my cats poisoned. I still have ten cats that I have rescued, or at least tried to, when they or their mothers were abandoned at the store across the street. The two cats that just died I had known since the moment of their births...The one that was shot, I had bottle fed and was so small when he was a kitten that I could literally hold him in the palm of my hand...he had grown into a GIANT...a gentle giant.
There is absolutely NO evil in kitties!!! That's why I love them so much!! My cats are always with me: when I had an operation and had to sleep in the living room, my cats would stay with me!! My female cat Lulu would rub her face against mine and purr...it was so sweet!!1

i feel for you man (or woman) i to have lost a cat his name was gorge he was 3 years old when i was 5 the last time i was able to see him was when he was sitting on my lap resting then he went out. the time i wanted to play with him he was no where to be found but under the soil of my grandmas garden. my mom said that she saw him covered in maggots already no one in my family knows how he died i and his sis miss him R.I.P. gorge

i was in the room when my babydolls was put down she had the i v in her and she was fighting so hard to get it out of her and as soon as the doctor came in with needle she looked up to me as to say ok dad i love ya i quit fighting she layed back looked at me with the i love you eyes and went quitely i am tearing up as i write this i love my babies still have 4 of them they are the only ones who give love unconditional thanks god for my cats love your tribute song and let me say i 43 this year

Reminds me of my cat, Katy. She died almost two years ago and I still miss her today. I miss having her curled up right beside me at night and when it was cold, she would get as close to me as she could. When I wasn't feeling well, she would put her paw on my knee as if to say, "It's going to be ok." R.I.P. Katy.

Over the August of 2010, I lost the cat that has been alive my whole life. He was not only my best friend, but he was the only one who understood me. Some people say it's bad to have outdoor cats, but it's best to let them enjoy their lives. I wish I would've known, I would've spent the whole entire day with him, and let him go on my lap. I watched a 6 week old kitten die before. His name was mango and he was a stray cat and flees were sucking the life life out of him. We went to the vet and it was too late to save him. Even if they did give him a treatment he still would have died. :(

Let me start by saying that I am a 41 yr. old man.(laugh if you want) But on August 8 2010, I had to put my best friend, a 9yr old orange tabby cat, to sleep after it was attacked and bitten in the stomach. I googled a tribute song for him and found this one. The 1st verse had me balling and has now become my song to him. I miss you CARSON.

And as I watched him slip away I don't think I have cried so hard in my life before this and I still miss him so much to this day. @allnameda141311 Hi, why would anyone laugh at a mature man who shows compassion for his pet? Our pets are family members and sometimes its up to us to give them a final show of love when they are hurting too much. If your cat could have talked it would have asked you to go and adopt another kitty at a shelter, love it and give it a home. Twice we had to have a cat put to sleep, both times they had painful cancer and were suffering and each time we got another kitty who loved us.

@allnameda141311 My 18 yr. old baby just lost the battle with cancer, I made the choice to put her under while they had her asleep so she wouldn't suffer anymore. No one will make fun of you for loving someone. My friends thought I was crazy because I loved my mine so much. The thing I always tell myself is that, they will not be suffering anymore and nothing else can hurt them. ~It's not really the goodbye that hurts...It's the memories that follow...

@Hawksayer95 I'm sorry to hear that, truthfully I can somewhat fathom what your feeling because I lost my baby only a couple of years after we lost our other cat. He was 22 yrs. old. The vet told us it was a miricale he lived so long :). But it is still hard no matter what the case. I will send a prayer for your little friend :)

This is a beautiful song, it is very true. I had to euthanise my cat and it was the hardest decision to make. My last words to her were what she would see on the other side. I have always hoped I was right. This song also applied to my ferret who died four years ago, it is a wonderful tribute to all animals that have passed on.

In the last month I have had one of my cats shot, and one of my cats poisoned. I still have ten cats that I have rescued, or at least tried to, when they or their mothers were abandoned at the store across the street. The two cats that just died I had known since the moment of their births...The one that was shot, I had bottle fed and was so small when he was a kitten that I could literally hold him in the palm of my hand...he had grown into a GIANT...a gentle giant.
