my mum has the 1.6 version which in my opinion isnt fast but hey who needs speed when u can just cruze in that thing with the roof down. the only thing i dont like is the rear leg room which there is basically non if u have a big person sat in front of you then it will be uncomfortable
another thing to note is that with automatic gearboxes you lose economy and acceleration, if i was going to change the gearbox id probably use something more like an austin martin automatic with paddles for manual changes.
Ive had a play in one of these and yeah the open/close is a big noisy but the look and feel of it is amazing. The boot is HUGE with the roof up, but down its only really useful for small luggage. The reviewer is right about the rear seats, if you're tall like me, your passengers are going to suffer! Gear change isn't as precise as id like, but that isn't more than an observation.
Its better looking and cheaper than its competitors. The 1.9 CDTI Design is my choice for spec, economy and looks.

The 1.8 petrol is also too slow and the 1.7CDTi is equally useless with so much lag from the turbo. One of my friends has a 1.9CDTi, which is a bit better, but the fact is, it is still a Vauxhall. I would rather be shot than seen driving around in an Astra TwinTop.

In Europe its name is Opel,a German name.
Is the name "Vauxhall" French? But in GB and America its called Vauxhall?? They dont accept the German name OPEL?

General Motors uses the brand Vauxhall in the UK, the brand Opel in the other EU countries and the brand Holden in Australia, all for the same cars.
In USA some of those cars are sold under other GM brand names (like Saturn)

I like the fact that the top can be put up/down while the car is moving.

i really wouldn't recommend trying it, the stress would shorten the lifespan of the mechanism.
