audionautas. com/2010/09/how-to-wreck-nice-beach-dave-tompkins.html Now everyone reading this will know that the voicing of the Cylon Centurions from BSG:TOS was done on an EMS Vocoder 2000 and NOT on a Sennheiser Vocoder VSM201!!!
This clearly is Patrick Macnee (voice of the Imperious Leader in the original BG) doing the voiceover here. Sadly, it looks like they didn't use his voice in the actual ride, from other videos, which makes little sense since he already did the voice work we hear here. Probably just couldn't work out a contract.
mmm... , hey those aren't the ovions i remember in the attraction. these ones look more like the ones in the movie. i wonder why they didn't just use these ones since they're more accurate to the film? maybe they sued themselves or something? who knows?
it seems strange that the imperious leader would ask what his own standing order is, unless this isn't 'the' imperious leader or their imperious leader, who knows?
The building that housed the Battle of Galactica was demolished and used as the base of the Back to the Future ride that is part of the upper lot. The BTTF Ride closed recently and will reopen as the Simpson Ride in a few months.
Cool! That's the ooooooold show - the way it was when it first opened. I worked the show as a hero and we used this version with Patrick McNee's voice. They changed it a few years later, but this is the one I heard every two minutes back in '80 & '81. Thanks for posting it. Cheesy but awesome!
In case anyone's interested,"The Return Of Maxwell Smart"{AKA "The Nude Bomb"}is on HBO this month{July '07}.The movie stinks, but it's got {brief} footage of this ride.

I went on that tour when I was a kid. So what's at that part of the tour nowadays?....a Ru Paul convention?

The actor(s) for that ride has the ultimate job for a BSG fan.

Your right, I wish I would have been able to have that job, or even since I am tall the Cylon walking the park would have been the coolest job.
