No, in fact, you're more than likely to realize that without a doctorate than with one. It seems too many with the doctorate spend too much time trying to psychologize their ill-educated profs and trying to figure out how to make an A--or whatever they give any more. I wrote the book on this stuff and did it without a doctorate. Don't know of any academics publishing a complete pedagogy of the clarinet--more on that later.

Thanks for the posting. This is one of your best videos yet. I have always believed to look at oneself before looking at the equipment. You don't need to have a doctorate in music performance to realize this.
