I LOVE this song, it's SOOOOO much better than Jesus Christ Superstar and Jessie is Fantastic x 3 in it. I love the way this girl sings, moves and acts!! (Did you know that most of MissAVuk Jessie vids have been watched more times than any other of the Nancy's vids - eg this one watched 3 times more than JC superstar!!!)
Jodie was the stereotypical Nancy so the public were always going to pick her. she's got a brilliant voice. I just preferred Jessie. Interesting how we did choose to go against the panel of experts though. Typical British public.
They had to pick out their strong points for the clip & theyre not going to go "I can't dance, I can't sing, I have no confidence. I'd make a crap Nancy but hey, vote for me" It's not easy to big yourself up but you have to tell the audience why they should pick you.

Rachels facial expressions are very, limited although she does 'anger' very, well. She also doesn't convey emotion..unless its anger. I really don't see why people think she's very good unless it's because some of the panel told us, she is.She has energy and determination though. Jessie is the one with charisma and the ability to make a song mean something.

panel of experts? the only experts sat in that studio were andrew lloyd webber,cameron macintosh and barry humphries,all of whom agreed that jessie should be nancy,yet the outcome was different,which shows that half the country chose to "dismiss" the panel of experts
if your a successful leading lady/man then maybe you could be considered as an expert but other than that i would be more obliged to agree with the people who are at the top of their game.andrew on a couple of occasions has criticised jessie but i havnt gone against him for it because his comments are constructive whereas the other two seem to have digs at people
The problem with Jessie and Samantha is the shouting in a song to express anger. Shouting is perfect in acting, not in singing I'm afraid. There are other ways as seen by Rachel and Sarah.

What I did for love? is a beautiful song she yelled it right near the end.
In the final on her as long as he needs me she was doing well until she hunched her back and yelled the last few notes.
Jessie hasn't remotely improved her accent in this competition. Im sure she'd be great in other musicals, but this is set in London not southern ireland.
So in week 3 (I think), Jessie didn't go to an accent coach and learn cockney?? Jessie improved so much throughout this competiton and I think she should have won.
WOW Rachel created amazing harmonies in this. And when Rachel expressed the anger and passion in this song she didn't yell like Jessie did. Sarah was able to do that too as seen in her motown song, Midnight Train to Georgia and especially Maybe this time.
Its world class performance after world class performance. You really are one of a kind rachel.

Rachel's told the story here, through her eyes, her voice,her movement, her face. Everything was so professional.
She can cope with every style of music thrown at her!
Her cabaret was mind-blowing, it was unfair to have such a soprano song in the sing-off, and for rachel who has worked her socks off all evening to be in it.
Rachel can change her accent because a) she's a professional actress and is used to it; b) northern irish accents are much softer than southern ones and c) jessie is doing an extremely good job of changing hers.
I agree that Cabaret was a highlight of the series, though. Genius. And ALW made a massive mistake saving boring, irritating Samantha. Rachel deserved a place much more.
the northern irish accent is harder to loose than the south the south is easy and im not a professional and i can do the cockney the london and alot of other accents rachel is just simply amazing but it is defo just as hard to loose the belfast accent as it is the south im from belfast i no we talk way to fast xxxx
Anybody else notice that, in this performance, there were practically no Jessieisms (crooked mouth, hand and arm movements, etc)? While they are part of Jessie's charm for me, her detractors can't use them against her! >I Love Jessie .x
Even John and Denise enjoyed that performance! Jessie gave it more than I thought she would...and I agree with Ralphy137, she always tries her hardest to improve on what they say, and when she asked John to tell her what to change he couldn't, and just made some joke about how no women could excite him and then said she was a fish out of water or whatever while Sam was the shark...who got the least votes
im not a dancer but i thought that jessie didnt do to bad in this performance. not that itr is relavant. and totally agree with lauren243. I wish rachel hadnt gone out:(

Glad its's not just me who keeps coming back and playing this video ;-) I like it when she says "hola" at the start too...I quite like how she dances, it's not perfect but its got her own Jessie style and I like that...I'd never heard this song til they did it but it's really grown on me and I keep playing...it made me watch Evita for the first time too! I was also really impressed with Jessie's range.
Hopefully madona hasn't heard this 'cause if she does i think she'd kill them for butchering it.

Do u really think any of the girls, who were scrutinised, analysed n criticised really had the audacity to be big-headed? I don't! By the time they got thru the audition stages, I would think any big-headedness would have been squashed out of them.

I can't tell you that she's kind and caring, simply because I'm not stupid enough to think that I could know such things from seeing a person on TV. You'd certainly be the last person I'd ask to tell me anything about any of them after that little gem of delusion.

i can tel you something tho she replied to altter i wrote to her n she is so nice she said ... that she loves getting lettersn she gets rely emotional. n she is dead nice aswel as she sent me a signed picture so i do think its abit harsh to say that about her. n she is really nice x trust me

I know she's amazing! i cried for ages when she went! lol, i sent mine after week 9- so it was when she had gone...erm but they still wud have been at the studios practisin for the finals, ah well at last i tried, rather than regret not doing, lol

mayb its because she is partly a profesional that people tuk a dislikin to her.she put everythin into cabaret and i still cant get over the fact that he saved samantha over Rachel, though Sam is good dont get me wrong.

Rachels facial expressions are very, limited although she does 'anger' very, well. She also doesn't convey emotion..unless its anger. I really don't see why people think she's very good unless it's because some of the panel told us, she is.She has energy and determination though. Jessie is the one with charisma and the ability to make a song mean something.

panel of experts? the only experts sat in that studio were andrew lloyd webber,cameron macintosh and barry humphries,all of whom agreed that jessie should be nancy,yet the outcome was different,which shows that half the country chose to "dismiss" the panel of experts

The problem with Jessie and Samantha is the shouting in a song to express anger. Shouting is perfect in acting, not in singing I'm afraid. There are other ways as seen by Rachel and Sarah.

What I did for love? is a beautiful song she yelled it right near the end.
In the final on her as long as he needs me she was doing well until she hunched her back and yelled the last few notes.
Jessie hasn't remotely improved her accent in this competition. Im sure she'd be great in other musicals, but this is set in London not southern ireland.

WOW Rachel created amazing harmonies in this. And when Rachel expressed the anger and passion in this song she didn't yell like Jessie did. Sarah was able to do that too as seen in her motown song, Midnight Train to Georgia and especially Maybe this time.
Its world class performance after world class performance. You really are one of a kind rachel.

If Rachel can disguise her irish accent when singing and acting then why can't Jessie.
Rachel's told the story here, through her eyes, her voice,her movement, her face. Everything was so professional.
She can cope with every style of music thrown at her!
Her cabaret was mind-blowing, it was unfair to have such a soprano song in the sing-off, and for rachel who has worked her socks off all evening to be in it.
Why she didn't go to the final I don't know.

Rachel can change her accent because a) she's a professional actress and is used to it; b) northern irish accents are much softer than southern ones and c) jessie is doing an extremely good job of changing hers.
I agree that Cabaret was a highlight of the series, though. Genius. And ALW made a massive mistake saving boring, irritating Samantha. Rachel deserved a place much more.

the northern irish accent is harder to loose than the south the south is easy and im not a professional and i can do the cockney the london and alot of other accents rachel is just simply amazing but it is defo just as hard to loose the belfast accent as it is the south im from belfast i no we talk way to fast xxxx

Anybody else notice that, in this performance, there were practically no Jessieisms (crooked mouth, hand and arm movements, etc)? While they are part of Jessie's charm for me, her detractors can't use them against her! >I Love Jessie .x

Even John and Denise enjoyed that performance! Jessie gave it more than I thought she would...and I agree with Ralphy137, she always tries her hardest to improve on what they say, and when she asked John to tell her what to change he couldn't, and just made some joke about how no women could excite him and then said she was a fish out of water or whatever while Sam was the shark...who got the least votes

Glad its's not just me who keeps coming back and playing this video ;-) I like it when she says "hola" at the start too...I quite like how she dances, it's not perfect but its got her own Jessie style and I like that...I'd never heard this song til they did it but it's really grown on me and I keep playing...it made me watch Evita for the first time too! I was also really impressed with Jessie's range.
