You got to be fair that goes both ways. Skeptics ask for evidence and basically never get any. What Shermer is saying about "Where's the ship, show me the bodies, where is the hard evidence" and the answer is "They covered it up" that has been a coveniant excuse for alien believers for years. There are countless reports from military officials, pilots and other trained observers which just can't be done denied. The bulk of information is simply to great for every story of UFO's and Grey's to be a hoax or delusion. I respect your opinion but i feel that the countless number reports can't just be denied. What Shermer is saying about "Where's the ship, show me the bodies, where is the hard evidence" and the answer is "They covered it up" that has been a coveniant excuse for alien believers for years. There are countless reports from military officials, pilots and other trained observers which just can't be done denied. The bulk of information is simply to great for every story of UFO's and Grey's to be a hoax or delusion. I respect your opinion but i feel that the countless number reports can't just be denied. For example many UFO sightings have been debunked, however thats not conclusive proof that they don't exist.. it only proves some people are trying to make money, it could be disinformation, or people are cooky... so you can't say UFO's dont exist. because there are some sightings that have not yet to be explained.. however just because you can't explain certain sightings doesn't mean you can say its conclusive proof they do exist.... it could be just we don't have the knowledge to explain it.

Cover up everything is a second nature in the military minds.
One good reason to cover up UFO is to not have to face in public the fact that you (the army) can't handle it, and by the way, can't prevent air space violation of your country.
If the military admit that UFO are real and there's nothing to do to stop them from violating home land air space, there would be probably mass histeria and they would have to face the fact that they are useless.

I love when Shermer talks about "probabilities" of certain evolutionary paths. If he were a real skeptic, he would have to say that we don't KNOW the probabilities, because we haven't found any other examples of planets where evolution took place. He's not a skeptic, he's a debunker.

Okay, I am going to reiterate on my previous statements with regards to the so-called "Project Mogul". If this was such a top-secret military project, I have just one OUTSTANDING question.
1.) How come no military planes were out looking for it?
2.) Why the hell were there no identification tags found amongst the debris in said balloon wreckage? The military had only responded once Mack Brazel had decided to go to the local airforce base and reported the debris.

the skeptic is right. the myth started in the le 80's and the early ufo books do not mention roswell. and after 40-50 years memories tend to run together and people get confused on alot of things. and alot of researchers just con people out of thier money.and alot of things can be confused for ufos. phoenix lights either military project like the rumored stealh blimp or so. Hell the government admitted that 75 to 90 percent of reports were sightings of advanced air craft. where is the beef

before the 1940s there are numerous ufo cases, people were subjected to public ridicule & chose to keep quiet. you need to read out of print books that list earlier sightings & a supposed crash that the government retrieved in the late 30s. I was in civil air patrol in the 60s. 500 of us were looking for downed aircraft we saw a huge UFO. we were trained to recognize celestial objects. the air force told us we saw venus. we were part of the air force & we and our wing cmdr felt insulted.

An old saying '' where there is smoke there is fire '' comes to mind. I agree that most are probably hoaxes and misidentifications. But there are far far too many ot just ignore this phenomena. What amuses me is, our court system is a lot of the time based on eye witness testimony, which can lead to investigations. Yet if you see a mile long suacer shaped object, your dillusional, even though you are a pilot. Eithger the gov has had awesome technology for a long time, or they are from outwith.

He was told that flying saucers exist. and the have no idea what the hell they want ( look up project magnet ). Its ther ein black and white. In my opinion, this man is not a true Skeptic. SKeptic comes from the Greek word "to be thoughtful". I am a skeptic and I find that the "skeptics" own conclusions in this debate seem more fanatastic than just admitting that something is going on here beyond our understanding. As a Skeptic, I could not say that they come form outerspace for sure. I can say that with the evidence, this warrents a thorough investigation. There IS physical evidence of UFOs. The skeptic is wrong.

The implants that are made of unidentifiable materials removed from people, the residues left from perported UFO landings, and unidentifiable metals found at UFO crashes (such as the Ubatuba Crash in Brazil) show there is physical evidence. The burden of proof is for the UFO fans to prove that all these are connected and caused by aliens. I'm not a true believer, but I'm not as critical as you. The truth usually is somewhere in the middle of the debate. Just my opinion.

i believe in UFOs, but the Phoenix Lights are flares. At first they formed a V shape, then they became a circle formation. WHY? because Flares will eventually fly out of formation, like the Phoenix Lights did.

Absolutely, there's been UFO sitings for decades. All Shermer did was try to discredit his opponents by saying how silly the idea was aliens, rather than realize most people just say they saw something and that it should be looked into WHAT that something was. He keeps talking about science, if he was a real scientist he'd want to know what it was. Science is the study of things around us, not the dismissal of something b/c no one with ample resources has looked for it yet.
