  • there's not enough radioton to kill you, so you can walk there if you want

  • @EditYourself2 but can u get cancer after some years or?

  • @TheMoeva i have heard about homeless people living and dying there because of radiation

  • this is a good place to play hide and seek

  • I enjoy the game, when I see this videos I feel a bit strange..

  • Wow! His bug never ran into an anomaly! *ref to Cs where a busload of millitary troops ran into an anomaly*

Its quite amazing how they are able to relieve Chernobyl into a game. All the while I thought it was some Survival open-world FPS until I read wikipedia, then later this did I know.

  • I really enjoy this type of videos...

  • In case anyone was wondering, since this bothered me too, the music used here. It's two tracks from the game. The song in the first part is called Radwind Pt 1. The more emotional song is called Sleeping In Ashes v1. You can download the whole album for free on the stalker website.

  • woho stalker game ... :3 AWSOMENESS!!!

  • and what will they eventually do with chernobyl ? Or will it be there forever?!

  • in the next 60 years, people will be able to move back there, but there is still a threat of radiation burns.

  • Forever man, forever

  • Chernobyl isnt just a fallout zone.

Recent studies of national geographic have showed that wildlife and flora is thriving in the 19 mile enclusion zone with perfectly healthy rare species like the lynx and Przewalski's horses. So its not that you would drop dead in 2 minutes like some people think even though you have a higher risk of cancer, but some scientist claim that living in big city's or industrial zones is even more dangerous.

  • it would be awesome to have a full protection radiation suit and explore the npp wouldn't it?

  • Yeah, Fallout 3 Like Huh?.... Bad idea

  • well i ment like half life

    :/

  • yea ^^

  • that shit would be spooky

  • @nekodajames it would be cool but nobody in real life has ever been able to extensively go anywhere in the plant after the accident the expedition 1991 (i think that was the year) i might be wrong but i think that was one of the last times the reactor unit has been detailed unless somebody has since but the documentary did state that some places where like 500 thousand rotengens , which would kill pretty much instantly.

  • @nekodajames or just to have sex with your mom

  • @nekodajames yeah I'd be able to visit The Wish Granter.

  • @nekodajames it would be nice man

  • This is just a drive-by near the facility. There wouldn't be much exposure without protection if you're inside a bus per say. Most of the places they stop at in Pripyat you could probably stay safely for an hour or two, unless you're in a hot spot.

  • The guide keeps you away from the hot spots. He has his geiger counter on the whole time and tells you where not to walk.

  • at some places there is not much radiation.

  • i hate pseudodogs. they scared the shit out of me so many times, ughhh...

  • i cant believe people are going back there, like i know how your not aloud to live there anymore but you can visit... but why??? so much radiation everywhere, cant be healthy

  • I'm sure it is safe enough to visit for a few hours at least

  • It isn't dangerous when you don't take anything with you that you found on the site.

  • It's not healthy to live there, but they've cleaned up various parts by scrapping off the layer of contaminated soil and washing down structures. Plus, you spend a fair bit of time indoors where there is no radiation, so you're really in no danger if you're just visiting.

Reason for going there is purely out of curiosity for most, but some return to mourn.

You have a geiger counter everywhere you go, so you don't stand on any hot spots.

  • Playing with crosshairs is n00bedy-boo-hoo.. and fighting Pseudodogs with grenades? :)

  • Chernobyl was on the border between Russia and Ukrain. Chernobyl was located about 2km from the City Pripyat.

  • deathtruck spotted at 3:02 :D

  • It looks just like it lol

  • haha GSC guys XD

  • LOL xDDDD

  • Russia TK'ed itself with chernobyl.......votekick

  • You perhaps mean USSR or more likely Ukrain??

  • wasn't the soviet union dominated by Russia?

  • it was but chernobyl NPP is not located in Russia. It is located in Ukrain which was part of USSR until 1991.

  • the ambient music was awesome in that game.besides the bugs the game was one of my favs of all time.but lets not forget about the poor people that got nuked with radiation though.very sad.

  • Fuck em.

  • I,dont get it, there is supposed to be radiation, essentialy concetrated in water and metals, why can people then walk in there without being affected?

  • the city and town are pretty much safe now same goes for the outside of the power plant most of the radiation has been washed down into the ground till it hit bedrock so its far enough away from the surface that it doesn't hit anybody. the ground water is bad and metal objects have retained radioactivity. you could live there if you brought your own water and probably your own food. now there are only pockets of high radiation if you carried a Geiger counter you could avoid those.

  • Radiation doses are measured over time (for instance, roentgens per hour) so standing at a guardpost for a month may be equivalent to standing in the reactor for an hour. In both cases, the staff will be cycled to different stations for safety. Some places have such low amounts of radiation that it is safe to live there permanently.

  • Indeed. When I went to Moscow a few years ago, I read an article in the Moscow newspaper, warning people against buying cheap car parts because the vehicle boneyards around Pripyat and Chernobyl are being stripped by moronic theives out to make a quick bit of money. The car parts are stripped, shipped across Russia and sold, but are highly irradiated and quite probably lethal.

  • Das Pc Spiel S.T.A.L.K.E.R war echt gut !

Der 2 teil allerdings ist nach meiner meinung nichts im vergleich zum ersten.

  • At about 4:10 that is where a helicopter's wing got caught and crashed, killing all on board after the explosion am I correct?

  • it was a sweet city with river, forest around! It was perfect city, perfect place to live..so..sad

  • to KiLyxD

    its not interesting!

  • bTW in real life Chernobyl STALKERS do exist. they enter the zone to get some mechanical devices, pricefull metalls and other stuff.

  • Just an input to think about. What if the Sovjet goverment had informed the world right away. What use to you would it have had? The radation spreaded allover Europe! And in the following months around the whole northern hemisphere of the globe. Nowhere to run to except Newzeeland or so ... But they have the Mourouroa-Atoll in their neighbourhood.

There is certainly Plutonium in the reactor. Does someone know which type? 'Cause some types radiate for hundred thousand years.

  • I think it's 'hundreds of years' type. It's amazing it is not yet contained and buried.

  • La vida media del plutonio-238 es 87.7 años. La vida media del plutonio-239 es 24,100 años. La vida media del plutonio-240 es 6,560 años.

  • just imagine - a territory where time is frozen in 26 april 1986. who need post apocalyptic movies when we have this O_O

  • tis true my friend... tis true!

  • this place looks reaaally interesting = D!

  • I am only quoting what was said on a recent Discovery channel documentary about Chernobyl, Something to do with all the lead that was dropped into the burning core meeting the water underneath causing an apocalyptic explosion poisoning The Land of Europe due to the wind direction at the time.

  • I watched that movie too. It's nonsense in my opinion. Unlike nuclear bombs reactors aren't build to explode like that. The heat would quickly disperse uranium thus stopping the chain reaction. Though there could have been some steam explosions if molten core came in contact with the water.

  • That´s what happened, dude...At first a smaller but serious one and then BOOOMMMM !

  • The reactor at chernobyl nearly blew up a second time during the melt down, the boys were shoveling sand and throwing lead blocks on nuclear magma. If it had blown Europe would have been uninhabitable for 2500 years . The current concrete cap is failing and the nuclear core is starting to react again, the Ukraine has no money to fix it.

    Time to move country.

  • The most radioactive chemicals released from Chernobyl have a half life of thirty years. That means, it would take sixty total years for them to break down and the area around them to be safe for humans. 2,500 years is an overwhelming error.

  • yep

  • ...fuckin` russians did not admit they fucked up untill radiation cloud spread all across Europe...That`s why european girls are so preety and so fuckable in the last decades...must be some kind ok radiation effect...well...s.t.a.l.k.e.r. has true in it afterall...;))

  • fuck you dracula cocksucker. My parents lived 30km from Chernobyl and had to move into Estonian SSR :/

  • guys i heard that in chernobyl that theres been sightings of deformed beasts like in stalker, creepy huh?

  • where did you hear that.

  • he didn't, he made it up to spook us but ultimately looks like a dumbass....

  • Mutation to the level of the things in stalker would take a very very long time, however there have been small mutations, not the real sci fi kind, but for example, there was a red robbin that sprouted normal white feathers instead of red, so no, theres nothing to worry about :P

There was an animal planet doco on it I think, that will answer some for your questions

  • yeah, i know, yesterday i also saw a dragon flying in my backyard!

  • i played it well the beginning but itscared me to much and i am girl! i don't horror things

  • what can radiation do to the body?

  • it can alter our cells. it can cause diseases, sickness and mutation, depending on the amount of radiation absorbed. sometimes, if you lucky it wont effect you, but for most, depending again on the amount, it can quickly or slowly kill you.

  • whole video is creepy

  • For don't forget, for remember!

  • THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!!

  • i think so to

  • Hey guys where can i find the exosceleton armor in the game????

  • you can buy it off of the trader in the Freedom base, it cost quite a lot, u cant run in it but can carry extra stuff (80lb i think)

  • Rob Zombie - Dragula , good song man.

  • actually its a remix of the song.

  • Yeah, I know ... You can´t compare it but whatever !! My mistake !!

  • Assholes, don´t compare a GAME with the REAL WORLD !! You think it´s funny ? NO it´s NOT, chernobyl was one of the biggest disaster ever, like the 9/11 in New York !!

  • At first you were making a good point. But then you referred to 9/11.

  • At first, he was making a bad point. But then he referred to 9/11.

  • derjoghurtmitderecke its nothing like 9/11 its 10 times worse alot more people died and u cant live in cernobyl for atleast next 300+ years and in new york ppl live now huh?

  • I know it and I have sayed, that it was a mistake to compare it ... sorry my english is bad, cause I´m german !! I mean in Pripyat lived 50.000 people and now its a ghost town !!

  • Yes we CAN compare a game to the real world. Will it be valid? Not really. Will it be 100% mother fucking realistic? no. What I'm saying is unless this game in any way shape or form mocks and disrespects the victims of chernobyl. I'm fine with it. I actually fucking love this game.

  • Its a good game and all, I just hate how on Veteran one man can take on the whole fucking military institute at the beginning of the game

  • Where are monolith stalkers ?? XD

  • the game's in the future, wait a couple years

  • im waiting to see strelok and some stalkers running around lol

  • can you guys tell me or reply to me what a power plant is i forgot lol so many years i havent used the word like 10 years or 17

  • Chernobyl?

  • Reactor # 4 I believe.

  • Yeah ive been there. i was talking to the guy above me...

    =D

  • why is there still steam coming out of the pipeline at 3:17??

  • i think its just some gaps in the clouds

  • creepy

  • how can i go there? are there any travel agencies who can me bring there?

  • Search "Chernobyl Tour" on Google, it seems to come up with some good links.

  • just bust in there s.t.a.l.k.e.r style.

  • I just can't believe that there is still radiation around that place!

  • yeah, and it will be there for hundreds of years

  • plutonium takes a fucking 25.000 years to deplete, so be prepared

  • in a way the only way there is a viable way to produce enough afforable energy is to go nuclear

  • yes,in 5 km radious there are no plants or anything thath grows

  • are there still radiotivity around there?

  • from what i hear there is still an active area where you can't go and where you can and to be frank yes there is untill 100 years from that day will anything grow(maybe even more)

  • LUCKY!!i should visit there some day

  • the makers of cod4 made the chernobyl level excellently

  • stalker-more freedom around chernobyl

    cod4- more realistic

  • true, but i havent played stalker yet

  • Russian government instead of do again "cold war", think to work for yours reactors, with continue control, Chernobyl had a nuclear very old and the control is little! !!! I hope that terrific situacion finish. CONTROL, ALWAYS CONTROL.

  • you are all truly fucking stupid, arent you? fuck you

  • bollocks, i can't move. srry mate, you have to carry me.

  • Follow me and keep low.

  • i think i just saw a mutant walking around there! creepy!

  • are you daft? stay out of the radioactive area's!!!

  • to much radiation, we have to go arround

  • lol:p

  • at this range, we also have to take in the coriolis effect

  • Its so much raining there because theres fucking acid clouds

  • 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town. I've never seen anything like it.

  • Fuck all of you spamers you played CoD4 and posting MacMillan's words ,,i,,

  • 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town. I've never seen anything like it. 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town. I've never seen anything like it. 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town. I've never seen anything like it. 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town. I've never seen anything like it. 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town. I've never seen anything like it.

  • A day in chernobyl will not get you deadly radiation. Today you can plan tourist runs to go there. A day in Chernobyl is like a day in the sun. The only place you CAN NOT go is directly inside the reactor

  • today the radiation levels are dropped to a bearable level

its 22 years ago, average radiation dose right now in the close neighberhood is about 50 times the "normal" dose

in 1986 it was like 1000 times the normal dose

  • The area affected by the explosion will not be safe for another 600 years.

  • I would love to go there sometime but it will be a long time probably. anyone know how to get a tour planned, how much and how long until it becomes safe and people start moving back?

  • i wanna go there before they cover it over with the new containment structure

  • So the radiation doesn't LEAK OUT AND GET BLOWN AROUND, KILLING THINGS.

  • Ive been to chernobyl, scary place my friends. and there are such people as stalkers. they ran away from justice. chernobyl is thier land.

  • Hardly the type of stalkers you seem to talk about. The stalkers that do indeed inhabit Chernobyl are there looting the abandoned cities or going back to what was once their home.

  • Kazangsta, why wearing a lead suit? Inst that dangeours too?

  • isnt the radiation arround the power plant still too dangerous? lol i wouldnt even get in 50km range of it without a lead suit. :D

  • there is a video on youtube where they are IN the powerplant, under the sarcophagus

  • Yes, but even in it they're FREAKISHLY careful and can't stay in long.

  • They're also in a type of HAZMAT/NBC suit.

  • "nightmarenobil"

  • All of you shut up about who shouldent have been fucking around with radioactive stuff and talk about the game for fucks sake. Also this game looks nice, I'm buying it right now.

  • damn , americans shut up ! im RUSSIAN and im proud of it ! put ur fucking bomb in Bush ASSHOLE !

  • YEAH NICE SAYING!!!!

  • boooooooo

  • Wow, very nicely worded, idiot.

  • I haven't played Stalker jet but it looks....incredible and all the universe created around chernobyl is so...HORROR!

  • this game is just briliant! nothing else to say! I didnt knew nothing about chernobyl(maybe heard one or 2 words in Resident evil apocalipse movie) and after I played this game I actouly started to learn about radiatoin and nucler power stations etc... Good job STALKER game creaters!

  • Horror!!

  • Great game... A true example of how We Render property totally useless for a few thousand years, We sure are good at destroying the surface of our planet.

  • Not we it's the system.

  • ahah the christmas at 4:00 musst be soooooo coool xD

  • All you americans CANNOT comment on how the Russians shouldn't be experimenting with Nuclear Power when *AHEM* your the ones who dropped 2 atom bombs on hiroshima and nagasaki causing 140,000 innocent deaths in hiroshima and 80,000 in Nagasaki. Oh yeah and 'cherubaelishere' your comment is correct, they wern't even experimenting...

  • I'm not going to speak for any Americans, and by all means they shouldn't be bashing the Russians, but how can you sit there and go 'all you Americans dropped this bomb' blah blah blah, yeah, because everyone wanted to do it? Get a brain.

  • I think you need to get a brain asshole. This wasent a nuke it was a reactor that exploded in the priypat nuclear power plant. Your also being stupid by saying something that amercia never did. The last god damn thing we want to do is nuke Russia. Trust me! I know what would happen.

  • we knw that we were talking about that just up a little. but never mind.

  • yeah stupid americans...

and it wasn;t raeally experimenting it was the plants owner shut down a reactor then tried to re activate it before it had wound down causing the disaster. and it was americans who thought up nuclear power anyway you ignorant fuck.

  • still wrong..it wasen't the owner, they where trying to see if the reactor would shut itself down and restart again if it became too hot, and to do that test they had to shutdown a lot of security stuff(-.-) and then it exploded

  • During the daytime of April 25, 1986, reactor 4 was scheduled to be shut down for maintenance as it was near the end of its first fuel cycle. An experiment was proposed to test a safety emergency core cooling feature during the shut down procedure. sourced from wiki.

    actually both were right.

  • Game is good, but make fun from such disaster?!!! Kill your self if you think it's a good idea....

  • Who is making fun of the game? Hey, have you actually played it for quite a while?? I did, and i cant find anything funny related to the disaster so stop talking so much shit.

  • this game rocks.........i think it would be awsome to make it mmo

  • An mmo with a similar fallout-setting already exists. Take a look on Neocron ;)

  • STALKER is the best game i ever played,i cant wait for clear sky xD

As for the bugs,i dunno my game never crashed and the only bug i found was when they kill themselves by sitting in campfire lol :)

  • This would not have been this good if it came from a major publisher. Only smaller publishers take these chances and I hope to god, for their efforts with this great game, they make lots of money and end up leading a PC gaming revolution!

  • best game ever played, cant wait o the nex one, clear sky!!!

  • ther is going to be another coming called S.T.A.L.K.K.E.R:clear sky?

  • yes, just search on the net for Stalker clear sky, go to the official web site.

cool ahh, cant wait for it.

  • it's already out.

  • Great Video!! I've just finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Cherobyl which (despite endless crashes and bugs) I consider to be the most addictive game I've ever played. Even more than the Dooms, the Quake's, the Half-Life's, Far Cry, painkiller etc. The addition of the Faiakes 1.8 mod gave the game real ooomph in the fire power and endurance departments. Faiakes you are gaming shaman, how the fuck do you do it.
