That's very narrow.

The traditional British 'Aluminium' spelling (and henceforth pronunciation) actually pre-dates any reference to the 'simplified' US 'Aluminum' which came about during the same period that in which many words were simplified, eg Humor/Humour. Also you have to understand that one language has thousands of different dialects, each with minor differences such as that that naturally evolve. And therefore a claim that one if more correct than another is completely incomprehensible.
