Latin is derived from Greek and greek is an indo-european language unlike the Sanskrit...Although Sanskrit is an older language than greek it has nothing to do with languages around the mediterranean(simitic,egyptian or greek and later latin)...so μητηρ in greek is mhter in latin or πατερ in greek is patrone in latin....
