  • Very original sound- did you come up with the idea of having a feedback loop with a boost and the GRinger?

  • I want to make one of these! Tell me if this is the right block diagram:

[Feedback Loop ] > Green Ringer > [Feedback Loop] > Boost

    ?

  • @pswoods That is basically it. You can really use any basic boost circuit. I wired the voltage sag pot to only affect the ringer circuit, because if you really drop the voltage, you lose a lot of output, but you can get it back with the boost.

  • @sicherheit Cool thanks. I ordered the parts from Mouser to make one with the Tillman preamp as the booster.

  • How is it possible to have an feedback loop going and be playing your instrument at the same time? what is the signal chain? sorry if that's a dumb question

  • @michaelianblack69

Engaging the FB Loop does not cut off the input signal. Also, the feedback loop has a 250K pot in series, wired as a variable resistor, so that one can vary the amount of feedback. When the feedback is turned up all the way, it tends to kill the input, but at medium and lower settings you get both, and they interact.

In this clip, I think I was only using guitar>pedal>amp.

  • @sicherheit thanks, that helps

  • @michaelianblack69

In essence, the signal is fed to the output jack, as normal, but also simultaneously wired back to the start of the circuit you're looping. Some circuits don't suit the approach and you end up with squeal and mush, others, like here, sound great. Good job sicherheit!

  • That is one wicked pedal bro. I gotta figure out how you did that.

  • this thing is BADASS. what do the diodes in the feedback loop do exactly?

  • They are just clipping diodes, wired opposite polarity, back to back between the signal and ground. I might have put a resistor in series with them.

  • yeah! I just built the GGG GRO and paired it with a fuzz factory, getting some similar noises to your frankenpedal, when I was setting the FF to some of the low drive wackiness full of breakup and drone tones. GGG GRO breathes kickass into the FF! That's a kickass build you got, good ideas with switches/feedback.

  • Sound cool. I need to build another one of these in a smaller case. This one went to a friend who had to have it after he tried it.

  • wtf?........sounds like a bee with piles..ha ha...

    nice job tho dude....

  • "what we have here..." is one fucking massive pedal. shit man!

  • That's insane

  • That's kickass.

  • "IT'S ALIIIIIIIIVE!!!!"

Nice idea. Good way to combine two small boards that work together well. Saves space AND creates some wild new effects!! Awesome

  • jesus christ. pretty neat!
