Such tariffs will limit competition and cause even more inflation. Industry left the US because of the huge tax burden and regulations here. We can't compete with business in China because of the slave wages that their workers exist on but the way to get people to buy American is to cut taxes and regulations so that our industries can afford to compete. People will buy a better quality American made product that isn't extravagantly expensive over foreign garbage.
Everything is made in China. Please, it's time to scrape off Chinese products from our markets!! We should be proud of what we produce and we should all consume it before buying anything foreign.
I agree...to a degree. Yes, of course the #1 priority is the American way of life, but we want to support businesses in other countries who promote a similar way of life as well. I may be wrong, and I certainly don't know what the tire industry is like in China, but we may have just put all of the Chinese businesses who don't cut all of the corners OUT of business. Any thoughts? Anybody with a history lesson on a similar tariff?
Wow I'm rather surpried Obama came thru on the side of the US and it's people at least on this issue, if he were to do a full 180 which I doubt he might just, just make it to a second term after all. But again for him to change and do a full 180 is dubious at best. Still he scored one small point in my book for this.
I would not go that far but je could turn things around if he wanted though that is for certain. Comparing him or Bush for that matter to JFK is not a very honest comparison by any stretch of the imagination.
Oh no, I am not comparing him to nobody right now not even Jimmy Carter.
All I'm saying is that If Obama wants to change, and finally side with the American People, then This is the right moment right here. JFK was the perfect candidate back then, his puppetmasters wanted a fresh face to loom the voters, but JFK risk it all by turning away from the evil behind the scenes.
He even announces to the public he will be a servant before his Catholic beliefs.
Spazzboy911 , I don't hate President Obama as a person. His policies I detest. He's big government , for big spending, and in my opinion must go. We can't wait around hoping he "Changes" . I know the change he wants, and it will ruin this Country. Just my opinion though :)
Agreed. I'm not blindly anti-Obama, he just has terrible policies. I don't think we even need a different President, our current President simply needs better policies.
Tariffs... There a bad idea.

Call me crazy, but Obama is in the position where he can be the Absolutely next John F. Kennedy.
If he quits listening to the Media and his Puppetmasters from behind the scenes. Obama Can finally come out toward the American people.
Apologizes for the things he did for the past eight months. Then finally he can continue on on rebooting the economy and the United States of America.
Obama needs to risk it all, put all the money down on the table. And surely we will help him win.
