  • "YOU SHALL NOT PASS", thats what she said XD

  • yes yes yes

  • I love how the top comments always have spelling errors lol

  • I have such respect for the composers in this field who do more than make a film's sonic qualities "louder" and "more intense". Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams both conducted their orchestras, and Howard Shore composed, conducted, AND orchestrated.

That's not just talent. That's genius.

  • The man on the Flute is fantastic

  • Thumbs up if you dislike when people say, "Thumbs up if..."

  • @SirGoodFella you just did what you say you dislike

  • Editorials in the newspaper, blogs, and everyday conversations - imagine a life without these things, where content of everything from books to music are controlled and people are forced to edit their words to echo only government sanctioned propaganda. Freedom of speech is at the core of my growth and development - it is one of the greatest gifts my country has given me.

  • As I have grown and learned about the oppression people face in other parts of the world, my appreciation for this freedom has deepened. In many countries, a simple Google search can get one jailed and beaten, and his or her family persecuted. Here, on any given issue, I am free to explore other’s opinions and learn from them; elsewhere, people are restricted to one censored viewpoint. To live in a society where I can interact freely with anyone is something that I will never take for grantd

  • Reasoned debate and discussion among our forefathers was critical in forming our Constitution. Abraham Lincoln said that our government is “of the people, by the people, for the people,” - it is the right to express our opinions and political views that makes it so. Freedom of speech has played a key role in the development of our nation, and continues to do so.

  • Huge advances in our country have been achieved through people freely voicing their beliefs. Thomas Paine shared his political views in Common Sense, influencing public opinion and sparking ideas of independence. Martin Luther King spoke out against racial prejudice at the National Mall, just steps away from the Capitol, which inspired the movement for fair and equal treatment of all Americans.

  • Every day, I wake up and am able to read the newspaper, research any topic on the internet, and talk freely about anything with friends and family. I can do all these things because in my country I am privileged to enjoy freedom of speech - the right to voice my opinions, and to debate and discuss ideas without fear of punishment.

  • that flute intro is amazing

  • Howard, you tha man! :D

  • The Lord of The Rings movie was my childhood. This broke my heart.

  • great!!

  • A couple of days ago, I was looking for mmos and found Lord of the rings online and I remembered how boring lord of the rings seemed when I was little and I had little to none attention span so I decided to download it to try so I started playing it and I decided that I shouldn't play a game that I don't know much about. I watched the hobbit (1977) and I really liked it. just now, I finished The fellowship of the ring and I cried when it finished, I hadn't seen that movie in 5 years. :)

  • 35 people are barred from the Green Dragon

  • when the mordor falls , all the orcs died except 35

  • pure genius. and those 35 dislikes are people that have depressing lives and are jealous because they do nothing with their lives but get fat off chips and mountain dew. those 35 people are the reason legitimately good music like this is not as popular as it used to be.

  • @Tylethian very true whatever your name is but those 35 people better listen up cause all you do is dunk yourself with mud

  • I love this song...so much...I feel so blessed to be able to play the tin whistle part. I will never give up playing the tin whistle, for as long as I live. Thank you, Howard Shore. Thank you, J.R.R. Tolkien.

  • Anyone know the name of the principal first violin by any chance?

  • @Fahrenheit1407

I think it´s Richard Roberts ... first violinist at Montreal Symphony Orchestra, you can find him on their web page ... an outstanding performance !

  • its like sex for my ears

  • This symphony always makes me move to tears so hard, it touches my heart like no other melody, with all its beauty, power and simplicity. Im only 23, but I already know, this is the melody I want to listen to at my funeral.Im going to stay a LotR-Fan my whole life. LotR, this is something big,a masterwork, something that will stay in minds for hundred of years, my children will read the books and watch the movies, and there children, and so on

btw: very nice comments afore, too; I've to say that

  • If there is a heaven then i would make a middle-earth heaven with me living in it with these music tunes at the background and i will make epic journeys and the fellowship will acommpany me. the though makes me want to die

  • Comment removed

  • When I die and go to heaven, whole eternity shall I spend in middle rows of this concert. Until the Universe will change and my deepest jar of love to this music will be filled with satisfaction... again...
