Kenner planned to make toys out of Rex Charger, John Thunder, and a whole bunch of new assault weapon systems in 1987. Unfortunately, the first year Centurions products didn't sell, so most of the toys intended for the second year were canceled.
@marklungo Even though, you can actually find pics of Rex, John and the other assualt weapon systems action figures on the Internet. The Gattling Guard is pretty cool.

Rex was actually my favorite character. It's funny, I heard that there was a Rex Charger figure produced and promoted, but never released.
