the alternative ending is better...after you manage to collect all 6(?) chaos emeralds sonic will run down to the ending spot but then they combine or something, and you see Dr Eggman jumping on a sign that says End

ever getting you turned all the chaos emeralds? up this ending and you see the dr saying try again egg is a bad time ... I turned around if taking the emeralds and the latest appears treading egg dr logo that says "the end"

there's a THIRD ending if you let robotnik (or eggman in this matter) escape but i won't spoil it for everyone so try it yourself (or make a video of it)

Why didn't those pipe things glow when you hit them to illustrate you were damaging them? Also the ending seemed kind of bittersweet. All those annoying animals, even Sonic looked aggarvated.

Most likely your VCR has dirty heads from all the old vintage tapes that you have been playing in it. I recommend going to radioshack and getting a VCr head cleaner. That should clean up the video and audio quality a bit.

What if one of the endings was when you took too long to defeat eggman and when the ending starts sonic gets a little tired and sloppy and faints and then it says ''You took too long. Try again and be as fast as Sonic could be.''

You didn't have all chao emeralds for good ending. You see Eggman/Robotnik jiggling the emeralds, you gotta "Try again" Eggman/Robotnik without the emeralds is "The End"

I've beaten Sonic the Hedgehog. Freakign makes me mad when I lose and have start all over to the beginning when you lose all lives and comtinues. Sucks. Still a great sense of accomplishment overcomes you when you DO beat it.

This game brings back memories. I remember when my family wasnt so well of and we could get a ps2 or1...I played the sega genesis. This game was sooooo kick ass. I only wish I could play this on my xbox360 now.

Sonic looks more blue if you play this game in real console. In emulator you can see, he had darker color, because emulator shows real palettes. I note that when i played this game first time on emulator.

I Just beated sonic 1 on ps2, i have an emulator for ps2 it comes with 2 cds,its called PGEN, it runs great!, maybe its the best free emulator for a console. Eveyone should try it

its rilly easty to figure out cheets for this game and all the levels one is at the start screen up down left right a hold start you can scrole though items and make them even rings. other you canslect the menue or what game you want to play a said both togher.

if you collect enough coins you should always be able to enter the special zone

ya know how if you beat the game without getting the emeralds dr whatshisname is juggling them all, if you collect them all he's stamping at the ground kinda pouting, that's the only real difference, and i only did it once and i had to use that code to get to the bonus stage for the first level.

I know a secret to get to any stage in the game I'm only gonna say that the only way to find the secret is when the intro is on unfortantly I never beated the game with all the emeralds
