  • lol they dont all sound the same! especially WA i am australian and some ppl have strong australian accent but most dont i always get asked what nationality i am so i guess not!

  • Good old Fitzy

  • lol thats the funniest country in the world

  • Fitzy's accent is what majority of us sound like :)

  • @JaKosanovic Most Australians actually sound more like the other two presenters, Bree and Mike, not Fitzie. Fitzie is from Adelaide - it is funny people from Adelaide always brag about how they speak more properly than other Australians.

  • guy on left hot and acent make him hoter!

  • fitzy is just fucking ocker :P you will find that accent in the majority of rural areas, people from the capital cities sound like a half and half mix of him and american from the huge amount of american tv shows we get.

travel out to the rural areas like the wheatbelt in wa and you will find fitzies accent to be more common, but still only a relatively small amount of the population speak like that.

  • Haha, omg theres a australian big brother ! thats awesome !

  • @13liveit yea, it was on for like 5 seasons or so. Its not on anymore though

  • @13liveit Yes Australian Big Brother was on from 2001 until 2008, and will return in 2012.

  • The first guy is how most Aussie's speak actually. XD

  • @CreepingBoNE

No it's not O_O depends on where you live. Not many people sound like that in Sydney at all :/

  • @dongtian00 Yeah, I guess 'cause I'm more out bush. That's why everyone is really rough with their words.

  • Even though Ryan "Fitzy" Fitzgerald (the first man shown here) is from near Adelaide, South Australia (where I live), that accent is not really a proper representation of how we speak here at all. I think that he uses that accent mainly for publicity reasons. He is often seen on advertisements here using that exact accent, and everybody I know agrees that his accent is put on, because one will never come across someone speaking like that here.

  • @mjhowie1 u is!!

  • @mjhowie1 You're kidding right? I know loads of people who talk like that. It doesn't sound put on at all. Just because you and your friends don't have the exact same accent, doesn't mean his is fake.

  • @mjhowie1 That's untrue, i think it depends on who and where you grow up.

the further into the outback you go the stronger the accent becomes.

It's because most of the coastal suburbs and towns are more multicultural so you are getting a mix of accents that (for a lack of a better word) Dumbs down the Australian accent.

I know of 2 people who have very strong Aussie accent and they live in the city.

  • @HrcWhitey LOL that's so true. I went to Winton and Longreach (central Queensland) and almost everybody spoke with an ocker accent.

But then you go to the city and everybody speaks normally, although there is the occasional ocker accent.

  • "So manly that he irons his shirts while he's wearing them."

    xD Love Fitzy!

  • I don't know how Fitzy picked up that accent living in South Australia, while Bree from Queensland sounds more like she comes from further south.

  • @Chic1110 I know, it's strange. She sounds more like someone from Melbourne.

  • I don't think he really comes across as a bogan, he lacks the mullet, the smell of beer (probably coz I can't smell him) and the worn out singlet with all the thick armhair hanging out. I love guys who speak like this.

  • he's a fcking bogan

  • His accent is the thick australian accent

  • @Pig560 And you touch your grandmothers old cunt for pocket money!!

  • @Pig560 oh sweetie im not sure the kangaroos would appriciate that. but please try fuck a kangaroo and im sure it will be funny watching the animal beat the crap out of your fat arse :)

  • For any Americans watching... a "Bogan" is pretty much an "Australian Redneck" xD.

  • and just what the feck is wrong with the way this bloke talks?! Some of you sound like us here in the States that piss on the way the Southerners talk caling it "redneck" or "hillbilly" or "hick" talk. Bogan is the same shit just Aussiefied so i get it.

  • i work with fitzy hahaha hes AWESOME

  • Love Fitsy.

I wish BB would come back on tv.

  • Oh hey a clip from Big Brother. I remember watching this when it was on TV. Too bad the uploader is racist and assumes everyone here sounds like Fitsy.

  • @MissQuattrone i'm not racist, i actually studied abroad in australia and i loved the aussie accent - whether it's "bogan" or not, so don't judge me and call me a name. thanks.

  • @ilovemangoes The clip isn't about the Aussie accent though why did you even put it in the title?

  • Comment removed

  • @ilovemangoes A bogan is not a type of Australian accent, it is a derogative term for a group of people. Much like how some Americans use the term "redneck" for how a certain group of people act. The strong Australian accent is referred to as an "Ocker" accent. I am perplexed as to the reason for pointing out the accent though It would be as pointless as us pointing out you have an American accent if you're American. Fish swim, the earth is round, and people have accents; common knowledge.

  • @DorkFortress An Ocker though can also be applied to how a person acts and not just speaks.

  • @DorkFortress you probably have to be the biggest loser i have ever heard. People like you make Australia look bad. Not one Australian doesn't understand straight away what a bogan accent is, nobody uses the term ocker. What made you have to kick up a storm about a small technicality in the way this person described accents? and in no way was what they said intended for insult. You're a Hero.

  • @I3IJakeI3II I'll say it here too, I was never going out of my way to be negative to the person who uploaded it. It's great others are trying to learn of new cultures. But wikipedia "Bogan" it is nothing positive. Everyone I know knows what an Ocker is, and a lot of them are proud. There was even an ad going around quite a few years back of the Aussie farmers saying how they're proud to be Aussie Ockers.

  • @MissQuattrone

how can he be a racist when australlians are not race?

  • @Probotzor Okay then Australianist... better?

  • I miss BB, specially FNL

  • The bloke on the left (Fitzy) has the stereotypical Aussie accent that everyone overseas reckons we all have when only about 2% of the population actually have; in other words, he's a bogan.. the rest of us speak like the other two.

  • @nevs822 hahah thats not true

  • @nevs822 Thank you! You are right.

  • @nevs822 Yep I think the majority of Australians (people in cities - who ARE the majority) sound more like Bree and Mike. Not that I think Fitzie sounds bad by any means, but it is just the less common accent.

  • BRING BiG BROTHER BACK !!!!

  • FITZY! :D

  • you're joking me!

  • fitzyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

  • just lettin' you's know, here in sydney, 99.9% of people DON'T sound like the first guy...

  • @TheCommentingAccount Just wondering then, which ones DO sound like that then? do you gotta be from really rural areas?

  • @ColorBlind4Life yepp, the outback and some country towns, and then a few places like darwin and adelaide (where the 1st guy is from) but big cities like Sydney, where majority of the population is, only the very very small minority would speak like that. I've never actually met someone in person who talks like that..

  • @ColorBlind4Life You know how in the U.S.A you have got those redneck hillbilly's. Well these are our redneck hillbilly's. They are sltrong annoying accents. We call them bogans.

  • @Tarateesh hahah that's not true! heaps of people talk like that! you must live in the city?

  • @ColorBlind4Life Nopeeee, I dont live in a really rural town, i live in the hills/suburbs and people talk like that all the time! it's not at all unusual. it just depends what type of person you are i reckon. More laid back people talk less proper than uptight people, but most people i know talk like this, so called "bogan". this is not bogan by the way

  • @nomnom616 Oh, cool well i respect that cuz i'm canadian and i would say my accent is hardcore canadian. more you get into the city, same thing maybe less laid back hahah. i respect the wayy all australians talk no matter what accent they have. Americans love the bogan accent not to make fun of it, but to appreciate the authenticity and it sounds cool.

  • @ColorBlind4Life yeah exactly(: aaw heaps good. i was actually thinking of doing student exchange to Canada this year(: It would only be for 2 or 3 months though cause i got like TEE n stuff back in Australia. What's it like there? All i know about Canadians is that they're supposedly afraid of the dark but thats just from How i Met Your Mother hahaha and i don't think thats really true haha

  • ITS FITZAYY

  • omg i love Fitsy he is fricken awesome lol

  • You bloody bunch of clowns on you tube shut your pie hole! Dont diss my country with your ignorant comments. We are great people ya all just jelouse

  • Calm down Bruce. Why don't you go back home, sing the New Zealander National Anthem and toss various shrimps on your barby.

  • @theblasto Why would an aussie sing the Nez zealand anthem, dick head.

  • They wouldn't. I was trying to be funny. Like calling the person Bruce and talking about tossing a shrimp on the barby. A lot of people in the states mix up Australia and New Zealand. Anyhow, sorry if I sounded mean or something. I think what I think is funny sometimes is mean to people. I've got to stop doing that.

  • yer its tru but he still is awsome

  • Goshhh I love that accent!

  • then dont F*cking watch something with the title AUSSIE ACCENT

  • haha FITZYYYYY!

    what a champ :)

  • certainly haven't invented toothbrushes or tooth paiste, ha ha ha!

  • Have the English discovered other means of power besides steam yet?.

  • oooooohhhhh snap!

    go aussies

  • industrial revoltion, was responsible for the modern world we live in, thanks to britain the modern world we live in exists today you convict fuck.

  • wow, that's rich coming from a racist fuck.

industrial revolution? britain's made the world great? haha. only if you consider dumping nuclear waste as a "revolution." well done you.

    but seriously.

australians respect britain and recognise that it's the "mother country." they also put up with british supremacists such as yourself, being racist and making nasty comments about them once being convicts, when really they were britain's criminals in the first place!

    just saying. :)

  • the industrial revoltion had nothing to do with nuclear power, that came 150 years later. industrial revolution created effecient and quick harvests, factorys, canals and railways (first major forms of public transport) a great empire which gave the world huge masses of knowledge about climates and animals and other ways of life (charles darwin) .. one of your cities is named after him. where nuclear power came from i dont know?? and why does so many countrys speak ENGLISH??

  • well firstly the amount of countries that speak english doesn't really have anything to do with how 'great' the country is... but anyway.

the point of why i replied to your comment was actually that i didn't understand why you had a reason to be so racist. i don't get it.

  • John Clements Wickham named the region "Port Darwin" in honour of former shipmate Charles Darwin (although this was not because of Darwin's scientific achievements, since those achievements were decades in the future; rather, Wickham was simply naming locations from a list of former shipmates[6]).

  • English is a West Germanic language that originated from the Anglo-Frisian and Lower Saxon dialects brought to Britain by Germanic settlers and Roman auxiliary troops from various parts of what is now northwest Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands in the 5th century.

  • @siaaaannnn Its to bad they are shit at cicket eh?.

  • Comment removed

  • too true, Aheadstix85. too true. ;P lol

  • agree. all the convicts were british, they were britains naughty people.

People tend to forget that there were settlers and farmers and military and not just convicts.

  • apparently they ride kangaroos there, like around the streets and stuff?

  • LOL. never heard that one before. No we dont ride them.

  • Heh, no, we don't. :D

I do so love that rummer though.

  • I am an Adelaidian and i dont sound like that....SA was the only state not colonised by convicts...we are more refined than most of the other states tyvm

  • I am an Adelaidian and i dont sound like that....SA was the only stated not colonised by convicts.....we are more refined than most of the other states tyvm

  • lmao thats the biggest joke eva

  • and you like Fall Out Boy...you were saying?

  • Obviously you didnt finish school to study Australian History

Search in Wiki: Convictism in Australia

  • spoken like a true bogan.

  • How is that a true bogan? bogans dont go to school, nor do they have computers with internet. They are too busy hotting up their VK Commodores.

If thats the only come back you can come up with your more ignorant, puerile and intellectually moronic than I first thought.

  • Hahah "your" ... it is "you're". If you are going to insult my intelligence then at least use correct grammar.

    1. Making sweeping statements like the one you made to begin with is laughable.

    2. If you had a real education you would realise that using wiki as a reference for your information is just stupid.

    3. My taste in music has nothing to do with this ... but thanks for spamming more useless rubbish.

  • Oh snap!! eva is ever if your really want to start the 'grammar' war, your so pretentious.

Take your petty trivial fights elsewhere

  • 'Eva' is simply a form of quick chat ... it is not a grammatical error. I just thought i would point out the irony

I'm pretentious? you're the one who is claiming that people from SA are more 'refined' than people from other states.

I simply disagreed with you .. and in response you insulted my education and implied my opinion was worth less because of the music i listen to.

don't make sweeping statements without substance and talk down to people who you know nothing about

  • Oh thats rich, take a piece of your own advice

"talk down to people who you know nothing about"

You no nothing about South Australians, and you called me a bogan, when you know nothing about me either.

Looks like you always need the last word. I am not going to reply to your pathetic self anymore.

  • hahaha,

    owned him :)

  • yeh lol dats fitzy
