I remember in the 80s when everyone loved the 50s and NOBODY thought the 80s would be remembered fondly....the 80s were crap everybody said. Lesson: it's all BS
Happy Days was and still is an amazing show. I think it'd be cool if they made like a 2nd generation Happy Days. Since they didn't tell us anything about Richie & Lori Beth's kids or if Joanie & Chachi had kids or what happened with Fonzie's son. Since Happy Days was made in the 70s/80s & it was based on the 50s/60s, they should make a 2nd generation Happy Days with the kids of everyone based on, like the 80s/90s.
Did you know that "The Fonz" actually never could ride a motorcyle! Kind of was like a smack in the face after hearing that one!!! Dont believe me see for yourself:
If there was a reunion movie to be done, it would be a continuation from where the series last left off. The plot is this: Richie and Ralph have finally been discharged from the military and are coming back to Milwaukee, where Richie goes into the film directing business. It would now be set in 1989 and Arnold's has wound up a breakdancing nightclub where Richie's 19-year-old breakdancing daughter often goes to after school. How about that for a plot?
The final episode where Howard Cunningham was making a toast at his daughter's wedding, he talks about loving his two children. I guess he disowned Chuck.
im from mexico and i just star to watch this tv show like 5 months ago and i love it i love the oldies tv shows like these i feel like i was form that age.. and im 23 year old
The greatest show of my time. They should be making shows like this today, better than the violence and sexualization of children,no wonder standards have dropped.
i think... they should at least try a new happy days remake show. kinda like how they did 90210 and melrose's place. with henry winkler as a more sagelike fonzie. not like the creepy old guy tryna pick up chicks but the values that he taught. maybe richie could retire back to his old neighborhood with his grandkids. or his kids could move there. and the grandkids could meet the fonz and he starts helpin them like he helped richie. idk... a young man's wish for the new generation i guess hahaha
@gerardo629 If they made a NEW Happy Days, they could set it in the 70's, when the original show was shot! Here's an idea...the new show could be about a group of sitcom writers producing a show about the 50's! Winkler could play Garry Marshall, and they could bring in guest stars who were in some of the old shows shot in the 70's.
LOL... just noticed that the series was set in Milwaulkie (?), yet the mountains aren't hidden at all in the pilot background! But hey, loved that series as a kid!
HD was Massive x 10 in Australia , fantastic show with great characters . From potsie and ralph to fonzie anf richie i love every minute then and now . Thank you to all from the bottom of my heart .
I remember watching password plus one day...Postie..anson williams was on....the clue was washed up...and the clue he gave was ah..."me"...did I ever laugh.
I couldn't watch this program cuz I don't live in the USA, but I heard there was no mention to Heather O'Rourke, who played little girl Heather Pfister in 10th season, is that right? If so, that's unfair, isn't it?
Henry Winkler and the cast was destroyed over learning of her death. I remember numerous interviews. With regard to Happy Days, and the "Happy Days" fans remembered, it was about the seasons with Richie, Fonzie, Ralph, Potsie, Joanie, Mr/Mrs C., etc. It wasn't insensitive. Roger, Ashley, Jennie - these were characters who held way more weight in the show, and THEY weren't mentioned. I thought the reunion hit it just right, bringing up the memories of HD we really loved with 2 hours of happiness
Well, I suppose something like that woulda happened, but those days (as far as I know The Fonz was one of Heather's pallbearers) but I thought today they shoulda overtaken Heather's sad passing & be able to talk of her, IMHO. Don't you agree?
It actually very well may have been discussed in the Arnold's sit-down session. If you've ever edited a program for network TV, you are left with literally hours of good footage, and then the painstaking process of cutting and cutting to fit it in the time alloted. I think simply not everything can be mentioned. Why are you so focused on that one particular aspect and not the (literally) 235 (!!!) episodes in which she did not appear?
I know there were tons of HD episodes, that were mentioned in that special too, but the fact of being one of the thousands (even millions) Heather's fans doesn't make me obsessed or anything worse.
One of the things that I love about Ron Howard was that he's living proof that you can go from being a successful child star to adult star without having any of the problems that has befallen so many others. IE Drugs, Alochol, The Law, Arrests, Prison and of course Death.
Henry was one of the pallbearers at Heather's funeral. They should've at least mentioned here, but then again they didn't mention any of the other lesser known characters (KC, Flip, Jenny, Tommy, etc)
Unfair...Heather was in movies; Poltergeist, Poltergeist II & Part of III, then she had a Bowel Abstruction, went for an Operation, & sadly she died. In an episode, at the end... they paid tribute to Heather, in a very nice way.
Heather's parents wanted her to have Privacy, so not mentioning her, was owed to them,
being the Poltergeist Movies, gave Heather much fame, Heather had a right to Privacy, she was young
I had "The Fonz" pleather jacket from Sears. It had motorcycles all over the lining. The show ended for me with the addition of Chachi. The original "Spike" kid was cool though. "Guess Who's Coming To Christmas" from season 2 is my favorite episode.
That Christmas episode is so good, I wish it were standard viewing during the holidays. I thought Chachi was kind of likeable, but I know there is a big camp that feels as you do. I do think the scripts noticably went downhill when he entered in Season 5 (that's not his fault, of course).
Well, gravity has a lot to do with it. At least, they didn't use botox or anything to make them look 20 years younger than their actual ages. Sure, Joanie didn't look like the same Joanie from the Happy Days years, but give her props...she didn't get a boob job or facelift...You change over the years...the only who looks the same is Scott Baio and good ol' Pat Morita. The only recent appearance with Al was the Wheezer video from 1994.
This is some pretty sick stuff. A reunion of a fake family from never, never land dug up from the TV graveyard, so a multi-national conglomerate can make some MORE money. Oh, great.
the small clip of when Fonzie jumps off of a building with a motorcycle..that was also on Full House, where Jesse does the stunt (which guest stars Scott Baio).
That is pretty bogus, as I think Milwaukee was one of those northern migration cities, so it would have had a pretty good-sized black population in the 1950s. The only black character I remember for the whole series was a black mailman in the original "Love American Style" episode. He had a couple lines, but I don't think they gave him a name.
Their was an episode of Happy Days where Richies band had a black drummer, that went by the name "Stciks". Not sure which episode, but I remember it very well.
Yes - the ep was called "Fonzie's New Friend," and it's from the 3rd season (which is available on DVD). Sticks made one or two more appearances, then disappeared (maybe to wherever Chuck went...)
There are two seasons currently released, on Region 1 - although as with many DVDs of TV shows, some of the music has been changed for copyright reasons.
"Love, American Style" - funny how things come about.

My boyfriend and I actually were AT the Happy Days house, in February. It's pretty neat to see these kinds of TV memories in person.

There are two seasons currently released, on Region 1 - although as with many DVDs of TV shows, some of the music has been changed for copyright reasons.
