do you ever tour and do workshops? i have basically been learning off your youtube videos since i started hooping a year ago and have learned so much from you....i would love to meet you one day. the next big spin gathering i'll be at though is probably spin summit in colorado....i just wanna express my appreciation for you in person!
@cidkneecydneyy You are so kind! I would love to meet you in person too. I am teaching at Hoop Convergence, FLAME Festival and Return to Roots this year. I wish I could go to Spin Summit. That looks awesome. You never know...maybe the universe will conspire to take me there! Where do you live? I also travel and teach. Maybe I'll end up in your town or near there. I am always looking for places to teach and people to help me set up weekends of classes!
@APCTOOL16 I wish that was my own hooping room! It's a little art space where I taught some classes over the winter. It's warm now though so I'm back teaching outside where we can throw hoops really high and have lots of room without messing up white walls. ;^)
Hi. This is great thanks a bunch. Question - do these isolations look more impressive with a plain coloured hoop rather than one with a contrast candy stripe on it? Maybe because with the plain block colour hoop it looks like the hoop is hovering, but with a candy striped hoop you can clearly see it rotating. What do you think?
@dashellsta Hmmm, that's a good question. I'm not sure. I certainly do it with both. I suspect that with the candy stripe, even if it appears that it moves somewhat, it looks more like a bubble hanging in space. Bubbles rotate 365-degrees so even though they move, they appear not to move. We should shoot some video to see the different effects. I imagine you could use those stripes with certain moves to make deliberate effects.
I'm racking my brain to think of videos by others with stripes.
Caroleeena, You are one of the most competent teachers I have had the pleasure to learn from on YouTube. THANK YOU for your thoroughness, and the kindness you always display when sharing your craft. :- )
this is a great tutorial! can't wait to watch it with a hoop in front of me!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to post...it's really helpful for new hoopers like me!
You have some of the best and most effective tutorial... I've struggled with so many things until I watch you explaining it. Thanks for being awesome!!!
I filmed this one at one of the studios where I teach. Right now I am rehabbing a couple of other birds at my house, in addition to Mulder, and with three birds it can get a bit noisy. I thought I might not ever get it done if I tried to make one at home!
