Jerry Lee holds the two biggest selling records on SUN records and this is one of them Great Balls of fire is the other one. Elvis didn't out sell Jerry on SUN records..
How can you NOT mention that the band behind JLL is Buck Owens' band, the BUCKAROOS??? Buck himself is visible in the first half second, obviously introducing the killer for his special guest appearance.
This is great because it's a version of the song with Jerry Lee giving a mild piano break and Kennie on the fiddle to appeal to the country fans. I'm sure the Hee Haw producers wanted it that way. Fantastic close up shots of The Killer!
I can't find one of version of Whole lotta shakin..if somebody remember a long time ago on tv was serial "history of the music" and one piece was about rock'n,roll. And then I was hearing the finest version of Whole lotta shakin'...next was Elvis Presley with That's allright mama, Little Richard with Long Tall Sally and Chuck Berry with School Days and many more.. Please help me to find out this version of WLS (goin' on) . Sorry for my English. best regards Adam
this has always been one of my favorite jerry lee lewis records. :)
