this....was....awesome =D and yes those little red and yellow plains stoped the nazi war machine from hiting america W00T,and in other news that C-130 thing was like wow awesome and then BAM SOOOPRIZE lol C/CMSgt Alexander Galarza SER-PR-123
Good vid. CAP was a great thing for me as a youngster. It taught me a lot of real life skills like teamwork, leadership, discipline... And my love of aviation was totally indulged too. It's a unique experience I highly suggest.
I love cap but u have to be carful about who joins u should never join unless ur absolutly commuted to serving ur squadren. I am a flight sargent and I have a huge problem with 2 cadets who are always goofing around no matter what I do. It pissis me off
just saying, the CAP wasnt formed to prevent a second pearl harbor scale catastrophe, since it was formed 6 days earlier on December 1, 1941. however, the next pionts are correct about them patrolling the coast for u-boats.
Although many ppl use it as a stepping stone to join the military, there is no committment. It is simply volunteer service at its best. Citizens serving communities.
I've been in for a year and a half and loved every minute of it. One of my most favorite memories is going to encampment and getting yelled at by a Cadet Colonel and a 1st Sargent from 5:15am to 10:00pm. Funnest time of my life!!
i've been thinking about joining the CAP, but am too old for the cadet program (19). so i was wondering about other options...i heard about the senior members. just wondering about qualifications and physical training...any info would be appreciated.
your best bet would be to contact a nearby squadron and talk to the CO. however to my knowledge youll have a hard time getting in without cadet experience. the only other thing to do would be join the airforce.
I just joined as a Senior Member at age 19. Not a problem in the world, they are always looking for new members (increases their funding). Find a squadron near-by whether it's a Composite (both Senior and Cadet programs) or a Senior only, go and talk to them and find out more information. You should have no issue you getting in, if you can pass a background check :)
Hey, I have a video like this up on my site. It's about half as long, but shows the same basic point. I don't have the history in mine though, it was nice to see a video that did. Nice job!
Cool vid. Im 18 and want to join the CAP. Can i still learn valubale info and have it be a benefit to get into Officer Training School for the Air Force? im a full time university student, could i still be able to be in the CAP???
its okay, ill probably still join on the senior side. Itll look better to the Air Force than nothing at all. Im sure i can learn a few things here and there
Actually you have to join before you turn 18 if you want to be a cadet, then you can stay in until you are 21. If you are above 18 you can join as a senior.
Nice. I was a C/Col decades ago in MN. "L-Pers" haven't change much. Is the CAP shifting to the new 406 MHZ ELT frequencies for all their equipment, now that 121.5 is phasing out (for satellite support, anyway)? Or does the improved accuracy and GPS support of the 406 units obviate the need for boots on the ground with DF equipment?
HOOAH MNWG! I'm formerly from there (sadly had to move). You guys have an awesome facility in Red Wing too! I've been there bunch. Is LtCol Brogren with Red Wing or different squadron?
1 dec 1941 CAP was created... 7 dec 1941 the attack on pearl harbor. good video, butt hat info fails

If you have prior membership, However Under regulation 39-2 chapter 2-2 "Initial membership.
All applicants for cadet membership must meet the following prerequisites:
a. Twelve years of age through 18 years of age.
c. Single or married and under age 18.
So you would be right for a cadet rejoining if they have been a prior member but not for someone who is an initial member, I.E. Just joining.
Respectfully,
