  • C.A.P is my life i love it

  • Good vid. CAP was a great thing for me as a youngster. It taught me a lot of real life skills like teamwork, leadership, discipline... And my love of aviation was totally indulged too. It's a unique experience I highly suggest.

  • Remember to check your spelling before posting on You Tube. It makes a 'smarter' presentation and more professional also.

Spent 30 years in C. A.P. retired now.

  • I love cap but u have to be carful about who joins u should never join unless ur absolutly commuted to serving ur squadren. I am a flight sargent and I have a huge problem with 2 cadets who are always goofing around no matter what I do. It pissis me off

  • Wow im going to C.A.P in a few days lucky me :D

  • Yay im going to my first meeting today :D

  • me too

  • just saying, the CAP wasnt formed to prevent a second pearl harbor scale catastrophe, since it was formed 6 days earlier on December 1, 1941. however, the next pionts are correct about them patrolling the coast for u-boats.

  • Are you in civil air patrol ?

because i am in the hickory composite squadron

  • JOINING THIS TUESDAY! GO CAP

  • im thinking about joining but is this training for being in the military or for anything b/c im not really sure?

  • Although many ppl use it as a stepping stone to join the military, there is no committment. It is simply volunteer service at its best. Citizens serving communities.

  • btw, thanks 4 the vid. Now I know a little bit more about what im gettin myself into.

  • i cant wait 2 join

  • im going to it in a few days

    you must be

12-21 at 21 you must leave

    ot join the U.S airforce

  • No there is a senior component to Civil Air Patrol. Cadets have an option to leave, transfer to the senior component or join the AF if they want

  • Well made. Makes me even prouder to be a CAP cadet.

  • personally I enjoy drill and aerospace, but there are so many opportunities it's really up to what you like.

  • Awesome, did ya ever get to go in a centrifuge?

  • Outstanding video, rich with examples. This makes me want to join all over again again. Great job, Murdockian.

  • HOOAH

  • I've been in for a year and a half and loved every minute of it. One of my most favorite memories is going to encampment and getting yelled at by a Cadet Colonel and a 1st Sargent from 5:15am to 10:00pm. Funnest time of my life!!

    C/SSGT, NCR - ND - 119

  • how is that fun, i went to encampment and hated it

  • hey all,

i've been thinking about joining the CAP, but am too old for the cadet program (19). so i was wondering about other options...i heard about the senior members. just wondering about qualifications and physical training...any info would be appreciated.

  • your best bet would be to contact a nearby squadron and talk to the CO. however to my knowledge youll have a hard time getting in without cadet experience. the only other thing to do would be join the airforce.

  • I just joined as a Senior Member at age 19. Not a problem in the world, they are always looking for new members (increases their funding). Find a squadron near-by whether it's a Composite (both Senior and Cadet programs) or a Senior only, go and talk to them and find out more information. You should have no issue you getting in, if you can pass a background check :)

  • you can still be a cadet if your not enlisted in any military (army, airforce, coast guard etc.) You can still be a cadet until you turn 21.

  • great vid!!! spread it around!

  • Hey, I have a video like this up on my site. It's about half as long, but shows the same basic point. I don't have the history in mine though, it was nice to see a video that did. Nice job!

  • 6 days before? dont you mean after?

  • Nope, CAP was founded on December 1st, 1941

  • wow what a coincidence!

  • @Murdockian sweet joining on 1/25/11

  • @MacBooker4444 nope it was formed before

  • That about says it all.

Check out my channel. I am in the process of making several CAP videos!

    C/MSgt Sajdak

  • Cool vid. Im 18 and want to join the CAP. Can i still learn valubale info and have it be a benefit to get into Officer Training School for the Air Force? im a full time university student, could i still be able to be in the CAP???

  • Not as a cadet no. You have to join by 18. You can still join the senior side and hang around the cadets, but thats all. Sorry man.

  • bummer..okay thanks for getting back to me

  • No problem. Sorry again.

  • its okay, ill probably still join on the senior side. Itll look better to the Air Force than nothing at all. Im sure i can learn a few things here and there

  • If your enlisted in the AF I would become a CAP SM that way you gain civilian rank and get to stay on bases as an officer not as enlisted!! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Actually you have to join before you turn 18 if you want to be a cadet, then you can stay in until you are 21. If you are above 18 you can join as a senior.

  • Comment removed

  • If you have prior membership, However Under regulation 39-2 chapter 2-2 "Initial membership.

All applicants for cadet membership must meet the following prerequisites:

    a. Twelve years of age through 18 years of age.

    c. Single or married and under age 18.

So you would be right for a cadet rejoining if they have been a prior member but not for someone who is an initial member, I.E. Just joining.

    Respectfully,

    C/Capt. Nick McKinney,CAP

  • @WVWGCAPCadetLunsford That is no way to talk to a C/Capt.

    C/CMSgt Leavitt RMR-CO-148

  • ... i hate ELT annoying things to find :p

  • sorry, it's great and all. Im in CAP too, and thats a good movie, but why is "knowledge" at 3:02 misspelled?

  • Nice. I was a C/Col decades ago in MN. "L-Pers" haven't change much. Is the CAP shifting to the new 406 MHZ ELT frequencies for all their equipment, now that 121.5 is phasing out (for satellite support, anyway)? Or does the improved accuracy and GPS support of the 406 units obviate the need for boots on the ground with DF equipment?

  • As far as I know sir, nothing has really changed recently with the ELTs.

  • MNWG is the best!!!!!!!!! Who are you?

  • Great vid hope you make more
