It's not for the novice shooter, but recoil isn't terrible considerig what you're shooting. I enjoy firing this everytime, although rubber grips are a must!! It's also incredibly easy to fieldstrip and put back together for, much easier than I anticipated, another plus :)

Great video on an awesome pistol! Excellent description; short, to the point and focus on the gun itself. Considering one of these in this caliber. I've shot about 150 rounds of factory ammo without any problems with the 50 ae DE, however, I've been having a lot of problems with my reloads. First batch I didn't crimp and got a lot of jams. At first I thought it was because I didn't put enough powder in, so I put a hot load in. After sitting the bullets, I realized some bullets weren't in snug so after a little research, found out I was supposed to crimp, so I did. The second round of the second batch blew the shell in half leaving...

@TimoJulz Recoil isn't as bad as you think. It's actually easy to handle. My 50 wasn't a pain to shoot, mostly because it's a very heavy handgun. The proper form with this handgun is to hold your arms in a straight locked position along with NO limpwristing. You want the recoil to go into your shoulders and not your forehead. Do it wrong and you'll get the end result of that famous girl who smacked herself in the face with it. Really not a hard gun to control, it just takes respecting the weapon

What is the point of having a gun like this?

You cant conceal/carry it, obviously. The millitary uses it, but how do you holster this thing while in combat? Its dead weight. Personal defense: cool idea, but think. If you miss your first shot at an intruder, he has a bead on you and your pistol is 11 feet in the air from recoil (besides the risk of breaking your wrist). Pretty much useless. Nothing against the gun itself, its a cool gun.

But its just a waste of money if you ask me.

@daleonz You dont have a friggin clue! This is the United States.(Except fot California) Hand re-loading of ammo is not only legal, but common. A Desert Eagle isn't even the most powerful or lethal handgun & hasn't been singled out in gun bans more than other handguns.

It doens't meet any AWB criteria,i.e. low ammo cap, expensive(not a 'junk' gun),& hard to conceal. AFAIK, they don't have thread barrerls for use w/ silencers. SoThey don't get any more BATFE attention than any other handgun.
