at least she knew about flux capacitors! haha there is a growing crowd now that does not even know about the Back to the Future films and the DeLoreans involvement!
"There's a flux capacitor where the coffee holder should be" What in the hell is she talking about? Mr. Fusion (coffee grinder) was over the engine, and the Flux Capacitor was inside. What a weird comment.
This vid is kinda old, but I just wanna say congrats on your car. BTTF is and always has been my fav movie. Ever since I thought about driving, I wanted to be behind the wheel of a Delorean. Although I don't have one myself, it's nice to see someone as passionate about the car as I am has one. Again, congrats, and take good care of her.
yes ... and the one in texas was actually for sale a few years back ... $1 MILLION dollar price tag ... they were done for a promotion with American Express back in the early 80s
That is crazy, but it's body is pure gold which is awesome. Man if I will open car compony I will buy DMC and make them huge! Ofcorse for that I need to get good grades. lol
Sorry my friend, but i may have to disappoint you. There's only an ounce or 2 of actual gold on those cars, since gold is an awfully soft metal, even softer than copper and is as heavy as lead
Aside from being expensive, solid gold body panels would simply be impractical, robbing the car of performance and being quite easy to dent. You may also need a different set of tyres and a heavy duty suspension setup, like that of a tool van, but in such case i doubt you'll like the cars handling
I was in Eurofest 2007 and spoke with some of the original DeLorean factory workers. Once of which was on the "Goldfinger" Crew .... the cars that were gold plated for AMEX were simply plated ....
I knew that, but the kid here didn't. But it looks like i shouldn't have even bothered replying to him, as his account has been suspended. Just found out right now, as i went to see what his age was. Regardless, he didn't seem like a very smart kid :(
Nice car by the way :) Very clean and well kept. How much of it is still original?
Four AFAIK. Two being factory built for American Express, and the other two built by hand - by someone that got a hold of the replacement parts for the previous two. The original two are worth more, but neither is really a bargain..
You are one of the luckiest people on the planet! That is one of my all time favorite cars sigh! A friend of mine has one in WV but I haven't seen it in years. If they ever sell it I'll make them an offer! Have you heard about DMC in TX? I wonder how the car does with the Stage 2 upgrade and performance suspension. What is it like to own one? What is the maintaince like?
thank you! :) its a great car to own, keeps you busy with minor repairs all the time, but all worth it in the end. DeLorean Houston is one of the many great resources for the DeLorean. There is also a gentleman named John Hervey, DeLorean Garden Grove and PJ Grady in New York that service the DeLorean exclusively.
are you serious damn! id baby them if i had two maye evenmake oneof them a replica of the BTTF car and leave one stock LOL oh if u can take a picture of those two cars your neighbor has send them tome inmy email ill provide to you.
Man... we have the same dream, i love that car, but, i'm very far from there to get one, and i think must be very expensive to get it from the US to my country, too bad...some day...some day...maybe. I have a Peugeot 206, nice car too, but not like the Delorean, the best car ever, congratulations for the tv interview.
luck my friend .... PURE LUCK :)
