hey thanks a lot! i checked out your kindergarten reminiscence video, and you're definitely right about it blocking the light, although it still seems like it's worth the trade off. =) one more thing i forgot to ask, when using the wide angle lens, does it record the video upside-down? someone told me that happens...

Nope, this lens doesn't flip the image upside-down. You might be thinking of 35-mm lens adapters. They tend to flip the image upside-down.

these shots are great! i'm about to buy this camera, but i haven't been able to decide on the best wide angle lens. can you tell me what type and brand this wide angle lens is?

Sure. It's a Raynox 6600 52mm lens. I use a 43mm-52mm step-up ring to attach it to the camera. It's a really nice lens. Just beware that it blocks the instant auto focus sensor (you have to use either manual focus or the old-fashioned autofocus) and also part of the camera light. If you watch my "kindergarten reminiscence" video you can see how much of the light it blocks.
