maybe D were trying to visually express the sorrow of the song by making ppl think about the sorrow shared amongst middle eastern women - all the hiding and being oppressed. plus im sure it was a good excuse to look pretty and different and go on holiday.
oh yes and this song is beautiful! asagi sings it very well.

egypt is part of the middle east! and theres no such thing as persia anymore. the name persia was the official name of iran in the Western world before the 1930s. lets move on please! islam is recognised as the state religion in egypt. so the outfits were inspired by the type of dress in egypt yes but it is more islamic than anything else.

Not the translation, but just something I feel while listening and watching this miraculous heart warming song. Oh yes, this is NOT THE MIDDLE EAST! Its an inspiration from Persia and Egypt, the outfits are nomad/burkah mixture that young women wear to hide themselves while traveling.
