If you do not do what is in the video, that means you don't exploit the range of units in sc which is a common tactic. Therefore, it sounds like you have a lot to learn and are not pro. @yuutokun it's either he's pressing "H" for "Hold in position" command or "S" for "Stop"

basically, when hostile unit is in range of goliath, it'll shoot right away, so he's simply moving them out of the battle cruiser's range but have battle cruiser in the radius, and simply stop them or hold in position, the player doesn't really have to give an attack command. I think it's H, I know dragoon works with H.

okay... how is this different from every other ranged unit micro? why make individual videos for each faster ranged unit? all you need to know is whether to use patrol or hold for the dancing units.

Actually, there is a difference. With dragoons, it's faster to press Hold than anything else. While with the Vultures, it's best using the Patrole in order to maintain ideal speed etc.

BC's aren't a waste at all. As mentioned below, BC's are used quite often in the Korean pro scene. And normally they end up having a mixture of BC, Wraith and some Valkyries - maybe even Science Vessles to EMP the BC's and Wraiths.

Furthermore, sniping tanks helps out quite a bit.

I've watched hundred, if not thousands, of replays and watched quite a lot of VODs (even thoughI haven't seen that many recently) and when it comes to lategame, BC's are rather standard.

nope lol, hold position is way more effective, especially vs retreating carriers. (Flash vs Stork Gom star invitational #1)

If you attack move and something is moving away from you, then you'll only get one, maybe two attacks(Same thing with Dragoons.) Because the units pause and are grounded for an extra second or two, compared to if you right click move, hold position when your attack is cooldown, and then move again and repeat.

Attack moving is just for Toss and Zerg really.

dunno if that applies to goliaths. it does with vultures, which don't have an attack animation (something just flies out of it). i haven't seen it to work effectively with dragoons or goliaths, which have more complicated attack animations.

i could be completely wrong, but this is my basic experience with patrol.

Goliaths have a turret "sub-unit" just like Tanks so you have that AI issue where they run around if they're getting hit by air units on a cliff. (It's also why they sometimes fire back at you in Defense games no matter what.)

They were. A Goliath has a air range of 5 without the upgrade, which is less than the battlecruiser's range of 6. With Charon boosters, the missiles have a range of 7, which is also the range of sunkens, spores, turrets, and cannons.
