  • I have been trying to learn to do the split for ages, and nothing seems to work, i keep having trouble getting either my back leg or front leg straight when i do my left and right spilt. How long does it usually take for you to be able to sit up in your side splits? Im 15 am i to old to be learning to do the splits now?

  • @SarahKaye13 you're not too old - you just need to stretch every day for 20-30 mins to build your flexibility

  • And i took a really warn bath i have too do it everydaynow becoz i need to get used to it xoxox

  • Do you have to stretch every day? I do martial arts training at home and I'm 37 but i find if I stretch every day, I kind of get tight and I need a few days to heal. Is stretching every two or three days ok with loads of cardio/running inbetween?

    Great video though guys I have learn't so much!!

  • @anthonycharlez Stretching every day helps build flexibility - running etc. builds muscle but doesnt help flexibility

    thats probably coz ur body needs to get used to the intense stretches

  • See if you do our streches and the next day your muscels are sore should you continue to strech even if they are sore xxx please reply

  • @IloveBubbleGumxox if you warm your muscles up, you can do some light stretching - sometimes it helps. You can also take a warm bath. It is best to be consistent - start slower but do them almost every day - than try to do a lot all at once when you aren't used to it

  • Hey girls so when you were doing the stretch at 1:36, I can reach my toes but every time I do my back hurts the next day(because school's out and I haven't been exercising much) and then I have to wait awhile for me to be able to reach my toes again, what should I do? Should I go for a warm up jog for 10 minutes or..?

  • @chloecaddell middle splits use different muscles so you need to work on stretching those muscles to get more flexible - then your knees wont turn

  • @zymbia yes - all stretches will make you more flexible so you can kick higher

  • @bunnysaysWOOF Stretch a bit longer each day & mix up the stretches you do. Katrina got all her stretches pretty much right away when she was 3 or 4. Sloane got hers after a few weeks.

  • @CJK66pies stretch longer each day - mix up your stretches (from our 3 vids + vid on doing needles/jetes) or try working with a partner

  • Im stretching using this techniques everyday for about an hour and im planning to be doing them like this for at least 2 months till i know how to do a split and then from there hopefully i will learn the other thing... Do you think it will take me a month or more to learn the splits??

  • @101blondiechic It depends how your muscles are, and how much your flexibility level is. Keep stretching and you'll be there in no time.

  • In my gymnastics class I have to go as far as I can in the middle splits on my elbows and hold it for a whole song if I keep doing this will I eventually get the middle splits :) ??? Cuz thts wat I'm doing nearly everyday

  • @andreaxxfarrellyxoxo yes - you get your splits by being more flexible & you get that by stretching - mix up your stretches with some of the stretches from our 3 splits vids

  • @flexiblegymnast8 we have 3 other vids on splits & also some tips on our needle, jete & split rolls vids. Mix up the stretches from all the vids and try to do 20 mins a day - holding each stretch for about 30 seconds

  • @Trixiie28 it is because your muscles aren't used to it - you have to stretch to increase your flexibility so you get a little closer each time

  • @zionca45 If you practice religiously every day, then its almost a guaranteed. I personally did a full stretch 3 times a day and pushed myself as much as I could. That got me into all 3 splits in four weeks.

  • @TheLily3756 you can ask someone to hold one of your legs - also use your hands for control

  • evreytime im stretching it feels like my knee isnt straight so i need to make my leg lower the put it straight to go back up in the air. is that normal? plz reply!

  • @LittleDancingDiva1 if your knee is bending, it means your muscles arent ready to go all the way down - you need to go back up and keep trying to get down without bending = do stretches to get more flexible every day

  • @fitforafeast i am really having problems to get fully down on a Man-split it just hurts too much..there are like 20cm space beetween me and the floor...also m y right part of the hip jurts bad ass when trying to do splits but not my left one..help me out..piece

  • @raguxxx we have 3 vids on the splits - the way to get them is to do the stretches everyday to build up your flexibility. Just go at your own pace and try to get a little further each time

  • @anaeligaraydominguez you have to increase your flexibility & you do that by stretching - it takes time - usually a month if you stretch every day (depends how flexible you are when you start)

  • @AngeliaCheer make sure your muscles are warmed up before you try - popping isnt a good thing with muscles - do smooth stretching and hold your arms out to the side & press down to try and get the last inch

I really didn't want to seieze up throughout the hols so i watched this video and did the stretches you said to do and i got down in splits!
