  • Oh wow I just noticed that sound when he goes orange on the 64k question, I don't remember that at all, they obviously scrapped it after not long.

  • Were the questions a little easier then? At least compared to the 2007+ series

  • Walking away with Ask the Audiance still avalible? That's pathetic.

  • VW Polo is my moms car.

  • They actually used a phone on the Phone-a-friend lifelines?, US never had to do that

  • @mmucougar It was only used in this episode. They ditched it after this episode.

  • @jaradoref Oh I see, but if only 2nd episode was on youtube then you could prove it.

  • @jaradoref The 2nd Episode just got uploaded, I saw it, u were right

  • it was the best and most hyped programme on tv.everyone talked about it.1998!! 12 years ago!!! OMG

  • I would of said Togo

  • These were miles better than the modern 1's!

  • lmao, they actualy used to use a phone and not some voice over in the studio lol

  • these questions are so easy lloool

  • What an idiot he could have used ask the audience that thing's always right.

  • @mrsciencereturns Not necessarily! The most popular answer MAY NOT always b right so I believe that he was wise 2 take the money knowing he wouldn't take such a risk during that question!

  • that is povo. using a white phone to call his friend

  • The classic contestants on this game-show were better then the modern ones.

  • He's actually fairly good :p

  • omg he blew the audience?!!!

  • did they look african? no

  • They stole my white phone to use on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire!

  • it was either that or groaning from the audience.

  • Notice when he answers the £64,000 question a different sound ocured

  • I think that was the old high-tier 'final answer' sound, which was a bit longer and more musically complex than the one in the mid-tier questions. In later episodes, the mid-tier and high-tier 'final answer' sounds are the same.

Also, notice that the question and answer bars are in dark blue/white border in color instead of the black/light blue border in later episodes.

  • The bars are like that possibly because of the low-quality

  • WOW! I've been wanting to see the very first UK episode for years! Thanks a ton for posting.

I'm also VERY curious as to why there's NO "Final Answer" confirmation from Chris!!! When did Chris start asking that??? It had to be soon into the run I would think.

  • It was something they picked up on quite quickly. They noticed that people would say one of the options as if to say that's the answer but then change their mind, so to avoid any possible controversy they made Chris ask people in his now inimitable way "is that you're final answer?"

  • Odd that he left his ATA on the table...

  • He considered them a bit of a waste at £125,000

  • Still might as well give them a shot though.

  • Got a point there. Who knows, he may have made the million if he had used them

  • The answer to the last question was A.

  • they used a real phone wow

  • Graham was the only contestant to use it
