and well programs like GIMP is 100 percent free and it's pretty much a clone of Photoshop. :)

Exactly what i needed! I used the pen tool at illustrator a lot. But now that i wanted to use it in photoshop i couldnt figure out how to delete the anchor, so it wouldnt make another curve.

Do you know any reason why the path deletion (alt+click) isn't done automatically after each line is drawn? are there many cases where you wanna keep the path?

@ryananddesi sounds like you might need to reset the tool it self. Click on the pentool then all the way up the the top left you can see the pentool icon, click's drop down menu and then hit reset, this should help. I have a video on how to do this. Just look up resetting tools on my channel.

i just installed windows 7 and a pen tablet

it works great with every function on photoshop except for selection tools like eyedropper and pen tool because the path is formed on the bottom of the pen instead of the tip

This is really helpful. I just got CS5 and i have been watching those "tutorials" on anime and car renderings etc etc and n o one ever said anything about the alt command.
